Head of Marketing responsible for building Pump’s marketing function, strategy, team, brand, demand generation, content, product marketing, and pipeline growth. The role targets technical and finance buyers, launches campaigns and events, manages positioning, partners with sales, and reports performance metrics to the CEO. Requires extensive B2B SaaS marketing and team leadership experience, strong analytical skills, and onsite work in San Francisco.
As Head of Marketing at Pump, you'll build and lead the function that makes Pump the name every engineering and finance team thinks of when cloud bills get too high. You'll own brand, demand generation, content, and product marketing. This is an exciting opportunity to build a marketing team from the ground up at a fast-growing company and help shape our company culture and values.
What You'll Do

- Build and lead a team across paid acquisition, SEO/AEO, content, product marketing, and brand.
- Sharpen Pump's positioning and messaging for technical and finance buyers.
- Launch campaigns, events, and product launches that drive awareness and qualified pipeline.
- Partner closely with sales and GTM engineering on attribution, lead flow, and conversion.
- Report marketing performance to the CEO with clear metrics: CAC, pipeline sourced, and conversion by channel.
What We're Looking For
- 8+ years in B2B SaaS marketing, including 3+ years leading a team.
- Track record of building a marketing function at a startup that scaled through hypergrowth.
- Hands-on across demand gen and content; you'll build the plan and execute it.
- Comfortable marketing a technical product to engineers, platform teams, and CFOs.
- Strong analytical skills and fluency with tools like HubSpot and Google Analytics.
- Available to work 5 days a week onsite in our San Francisco office.
Bonus Points
- Experience in cloud infrastructure, dev tools, observability, or FinOps.
- Experience with PLG or self-serve funnels.
Benefits
- Competitive compensation + equity
- Comprehensive medical and dental coverage
- 401(k) plan
- Generous paid time off, including 13 days of accrued PTO, 9 sick days, all 11 federal holidays, and a company-wide winter break from December 24 through January 1
- Free lunch at the office
- Free access to the building gym
- Annual company-paid retreats
