About Portex

Portex is building a procurement and payment operating system for the $4 trillion logistics industry - the backbone of the global economy. We’re building simple yet revolutionary freight procurement, payment and financing products so all businesses can realize pricing efficiency and transparency while navigating global trade.

Our founding team has backgrounds from Flexport, Uber, Motive, Plaid and Autodesk. We’ve raised an $8M+ seed round of funding from amazing VC firms including Susa Ventures, Footwork, Cowboy Ventures and Base10, and an incredible group of angels from founding teams at Uber, Affirm, Brex, Plaid, Cloudtrucks, Motive and more.

About the role

This role is not for the faint of heart—but it’s an incredible opportunity for someone who wants to help build a company from the ground up. You’ll work directly with the CEO to keep the business running smoothly, solving real problems across GTM, internal ops, and data. Whether it’s refining outbound strategy, unblocking execution, or tracking key metrics, you’ll be hands-on with the work that matters most.

This is a high-impact, high-visibility role for someone who thrives on ownership, operates with urgency, and wants to grow into a critical leader as the company scales.

What you'll do

Keep the Team Moving
  • Drive high-priority initiatives forward–build lightweight plans, clarify owners, and maintain momentum
  • Own internal rhythms–stand-ups, all-hands, planning cycles, and check-ins
  • Translate goals into actionable plans without overcomplicating the process
Run Day-to-Day Ops
  • Manage internal coordination, shared tools, basic finance, and investor updates
  • Set up and maintain simple systems to keep the team organized and moving fast
  • Spot and solve operational issues before they become blockers
Drive GTM Execution
  • Prioritize leads or accounts based on ICP or sales feedback
  • Clean, enrich, and maintain leads and account data across tools like Salesforce, Clay ZoomInfo & Outreach to ensure sales has accurate, actionable information for outbound success
  • Manage CRM hygiene, pipeline tracking and sales ops frameworks
  • Help run and assess outbound experiments
  • Monitor GTM performance and surface gaps or opportunities
Lead with Data
  • Pull and organize data to support decisions across GTM, product, and finance
  • Build lightweight dashboards (Excel, Metabase, etc.) and highlight key trends
  • Improve visibility without creating manual work or bloated systems

What makes someone a great fit

You’ll thrive in this role if you:

  • Navigate ambiguity – Stay calm under pressure and find creative paths forward
  • Own your growth – Speak up when you’re stuck and bring a plan to move forward
  • Switch gears easily – Jump in wherever needed–strategy or execution
  • Keep the trains running – Create structure, prioritize, and keep things on track
  • Ramp fast – Learn quickly and figure things out without all the answers
  • Set the high bar – Take pride in quality and expect the same from others
  • Move with intention – Know when to go fast and when to pause for polish

Qualifications

We’re looking for someone with:

  • 3+ years in fast-paced, high-growth, or high-responsibility environments
  • Strong SaaS ops foundation (internal + GTM exposure)
  • Familiarity with mid-market sales or GTM motions
  • Proven cross-functional project management experience
  • San Francisco-based (hybrid role, 3x/week in-office)

Bonus points for:

  • Experience experimenting with or implementing AI productivity tools
  • Familiarity with SQL, Metabase, or other data analysis tools
  • Operational exposure to Salesforce and Stripe
  • Experience in or knowledge of the freight management or supply chain logistics industry

Benefits

We offer a competitive salary and equity package, additional benefits include:

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Unlimited vacation policy
  • Your choice of laptop and other home office equipment
