About the role

We’re looking for an exceptional leader to build and lead Thatch for Platforms across product and go-to-market. You’ll set the long-term strategy for the business, translate that strategy into product and commercial priorities, and develop a world-class team capable of executing against an ambitious vision.

You’ll serve as a trusted advisor to C-level executives at Fortune 500 businesses, helping them navigate the complexities of distributing healthcare benefits and identifying new ways Thatch can create value for their businesses and customers. You’ll bring the technical depth to guide our platform in the right long-term direction, the commercial judgment to turn customer needs into durable growth, and the leadership ability to attract, develop, and retain exceptional talent.

This is a highly cross-functional role with meaningful influence over Thatch’s product, technology, and go-to-market strategy. You’ll thrive here if you love moving between long-range strategy and hands-on execution, developing people, and building a category-defining business in a complex industry. If this energizes you, then we would love to talk to you!

What you'll do
  • Set the vision and long-term strategy for Thatch for Platforms, establishing where we play, how we win, and the capabilities we need to build
  • Lead the Platforms organization across product and go-to-market, aligning the team around a unified strategy, roadmap, and operating plan
  • Own the performance of the platform business, including partner acquisition, implementation, adoption, retention, expansion, and overall customer health
  • Establish the goals, metrics, and operating rhythms used to evaluate the health of the business, prioritize investments, and hold the organization accountable for results
  • Represent the voice of platform partners across Thatch and collaborate with engineering, growth, sales, operations, implementation, and company leadership to drive customer and business outcomes
  • Recruit, lead, and develop a high-performing multidisciplinary team, creating an environment where exceptional people can grow, take ownership, and do the best work of their careers
  • Identify emerging market, customer, and technology trends and use them to shape Thatch’s broader company strategy
Background we're looking for
  • Exceptional executive presence and communication skills, with the ability to build credibility and influence decisions with C-level leaders at large, complex enterprises
  • 10+ years of experience building and scaling enterprise software, platform, or technology-enabled businesses, including significant leadership responsibility
  • Experience leading across both product and go-to-market functions, with a track record of turning strategy into measurable customer and commercial outcomes
  • Strong technical aptitude and product judgment, with the ability to engage deeply on architecture, integrations, data, security, and scalability without needing to be the primary technical implementer
  • Demonstrated success developing strategy in an ambiguous environment and translating it into clear priorities, operating plans, and execution
  • A track record of recruiting, managing, and developing high-performing teams and leaders
  • Strong commercial judgment and experience navigating complex enterprise sales, implementation, adoption, retention, and expansion motions
  • A continuous growth mindset, with a desire to work in an extremely fast-paced and results-oriented environment
  • High ownership to improve your craft, develop your team, create exceptional outcomes for customers, and contribute to our goals as a company

We hire for potential — even if you don't meet all the criteria listed here, we encourage you to apply!

Experience we’d be particularly excited about
  • An understanding of healthcare, employee benefits, insurance, or another highly regulated industry
What to expect

We interview rigorously based on integrity, talent, and drive; the trust we display in our teammates from day 1 is a reflection of the confidence we have in this process. We aim to evaluate the things you’ll be doing every day as best we can, and we move quickly. Here's what to expect:

  • 30 minute video meeting to talk through your background and interest in Thatch
  • 45 minute video meeting with the hiring manager to dive deeper into your experience and the role
  • 30 minute video meeting to meet 2-3 members of the team
  • 30 minute video meeting with the hiring manager to work through a live case study
  • 30 minute video meeting with our founders to discuss your approach to culture and our operating principles
Estimated Compensation Range
$170,000$185,000 USD
