Role: Head of Product
Location: San Francisco / Bay Area (preferred)

About our client:

Our client is a high-growth AI company building the infrastructure that enables humans and AI to collaborate at scale. They believe that for better AI, better data is needed — and that the best data comes from experts who are well supported, incentivized, and scaffolded for success.

Originally founded to empower meaningfully engaged work for experts, our client now orchestrates teams of specialists to help AI models perform expert-only capabilities at scale. They design systems that allow top-tier experts to contribute high-quality data — and AI researchers to consume it seamlessly — enabling their partners to build more capable, reliable, and aligned AI systems.

Position Overview:

Our client is building the infrastructure layer for expert-curated, extremely high-quality data powering the world’s leading AI models. They’re seeking a Head of Product to lead product strategy, UX, and design for the platform that connects world-class experts to frontier AI research.

This role is ideal for a systems-oriented product leader — someone who has scaled products from ~$1M to $100M+ ARR, blends strong product taste with deep user empathy, and can operate fluently across AI research, expert contributor workflows, and enterprise needs.

You will own their expert-facing and customer-facing product surfaces — defining how experts onboard, vet, contribute, and maintain quality, as well as how researchers and enterprise customers interact with their data-delivery systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Product & Design Leadership

    • Define and drive the end-to-end product vision, UX, and design for their expert and customer platforms.

    • Lead a multidisciplinary team across product management, UX/UI design, and product operations.

    • Establish a product culture grounded in user empathy, experimentation, and high taste.

    • Own prioritization frameworks, roadmap planning, and execution cadence across product verticals.

  • UX, Interface & Expert Experience

    • Design world-class onboarding, vetting, and work interfaces for a global network of experts.

    • Build systems that ensure expert motivation, fraud detection, and sustained high-quality contributions.

    • Partner with Delivery to translate operational workflows into intuitive and elegant product surfaces.

    • Champion accessibility, usability, and delight in every user interaction.

  • AI-Native Product Development

    • Partner with Research & Applied AI to integrate ML-powered capabilities across expert and customer interfaces.

    • Translate emerging AI capabilities into usable product experiences that meaningfully improve throughput and quality.

    • Define human-in-the-loop UX for expert review, annotation, and feedback cycles.

  • Business & Strategic Leadership

    • Serve as a key thought partner to the CEO and executive team on product-driven business strategy.

    • Collaborate with GTM, Operations, and Customer Success to align product development with revenue, adoption, and customer needs.

    • Represent the product and design vision in board, investor, and strategic partner settings.

    • Develop metrics and frameworks that tie product outcomes directly to business impact.

Qualifications:
  • Strategic & Entrepreneurial Leadership

    • Founder-like ownership with experience scaling 0→1 and 1→100 products.

    • Operates fluidly from long-term vision to pixel-level detail.

    • Thinks in systems, leverage, and outcomes — not just features.

  • Design Taste & User Obsession

    • Deep aesthetic sensibility and product craftsmanship.

    • Relentless focus on user empathy and behavior — especially experts and researchers.

    • Balances simplicity, beauty, and utility within constraints.

  • Technical Fluency

    • Comfortable with data systems, ML workflows, and APIs; capable of partnering closely with engineering and research.

    • Understands data-infrastructure constraints and can navigate tradeoffs with confidence.

    • Curious about emerging AI-native interface paradigms (copilots, natural-language UX, etc.).

  • Operational Excellence

    • Skilled at designing scalable product processes and operating cadences.

    • Uses metrics to inform decisions without losing product intuition.

    • Collaborates effectively with Delivery, Engineering, and Research.

  • Team Building & Mentorship

    • Proven ability to hire, develop, and retain exceptional PM and design talent.

    • Creates an environment of ownership, clarity, and psychological safety.

    • Leads with warmth, rigor, and taste.

  • Executive Communication

    • Clear, concise communicator who inspires confidence.

    • Capable of telling compelling product stories to customers, board members, and investors.

    • Balances high-level strategy with grounded execution detail.

  • Preferred Background

    • 7+ years in product and/or design leadership at high-growth tech companies, ideally at the intersection of AI, data, or enterprise SaaS.

    • Experience building expert networks, marketplaces, or human-in-the-loop systems.

    • Prior entrepreneurial or founding experience strongly preferred.

    • Deep understanding of AI, data labeling, or research-tooling ecosystems.

    • Strong design instincts backed by a portfolio or product examples.

    • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science, Design, or a related field.

What They Offer:
  • Highly competitive - final compensation will depend on experience, skill level, and location

  • Equity

  • Comprehensive Benefits
