We’re Changing the Rentals Industry

We’re a profitable, growth-stage company building industry-leading martech and data products for the rentals industry. While originally known for building and operating one of the U.S.’s largest rental marketplaces - Rentable, our focus has shifted to our category-leading AI and data SaaS products with triple-digit growth rates.

We’re a fully remote team of 100+ spread across the U.S. from coast to coast. We operate on a strict no a**holes policy and are proud to have built a community of highly performing people that take our work seriously, but not ourselves.

While we’ve raised $30MM+ to date from some of the world’s best investors, we’re profitable with a strong balance sheet and an indefinite runway. We pride ourselves on achieving rapid growth without having to incinerate capital.

If you like the idea of joining an industry-changing company made up of people who genuinely like each other, Rentable could be a great fit for you.

The Role

As the Head of Product Design, you will be the principal driver of the UX strategy and vision for our product portfolio. You will define the future user experience, ensuring that exceptional design creates customer value and achieves critical business outcomes. This role requires an analytical mindset to simplify complex UX problems and develop easy-to-use solutions that directly impact business growth.

This is a hands-on leadership role. You’ll lead and mentor a talented team of 3 product designers, shape design across all product lines, and set a high bar for craft—while still designing meaningful parts of the product yourself.

If you love designing real products, obsessing over user experience, and building a high-performance design culture, this role is for you.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and drive the overall experience design vision aligned with company goals, target audiences, and the product roadmap for ApartmentIQ.
  • Own the design system, along with a plan for evolutionary implementation to bring the vision to reality over time.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering to prioritize and spec out new features
  • Work directly with engineering to ensure a feature gets built, balancing your vision, technical feasibility, and user value
  • Design new features all the way from concept to finalized pixels
  • Conduct user research to gain deep insights into user behavior, needs, and pain points. Utilize findings to inform and validate design decisions.

Qualifications

  • You have 8+ years of UX product design with a portfolio showcasing the impact of your work on the business.
  • You have experience working on a small design team and "doing it all".
  • You enjoy going deep on both UX and UI work.
  • You're a clear communicator and enjoy working closely with partners across teams, particularly in engineering.
  • You've invested in your craft and have experience with data visualization and interaction design.
  • Experience mentoring and providing guidance to other designers.

Why Rentable

  • 100% remote workplace
  • Competitive Compensation
  • Flexible Vacation Policy
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance
  • Paid Parental Leave
  • 100% paid Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, and Life Insurance Program
  • 401k Program
  • No A**hole policy
