Salary: $175,000 - $200,000 plus bonus🚀 Your Role:

We are seeking an experienced Director, Head of Product, Tax in New York (hybrid) to lead the strategy, development, and commercial success of one of Xceptor’s most important growth bets: U.S. Tax.  We are building off a strong international tax product offering and presence and are looking to extend and build new capabilities within the U.S. market. 

This role will own the end-to-end product lifecycle for our tax solutions, including:

  • Understanding our clients - anticipating their current and future needs
  • Keeping pulse of changing industry and regulatory dynamics that impact U.S. Tax in partnership with tax domain experts, legal and compliance
  • Developing the long-term vision and strategy for our U.S. Product strategy and creating an execution roadmap
  • Building the commercialization and go-to-market strategy in partnership with Sales and cross-functional GTM teams
  • Setting the pace, prioritization and execution delivery in partnership with engineering

You will play a critical role in building scalable, high-quality tax capabilities that meet complex regulatory requirements while delivering exceptional customer and business value.

🧩 What You’ll Be Doing:

Product and People Leadership

  • Build, coach and lead a team of product managers and cross-functional tribes, setting them up to the best work of their careers
  • Develop product craft and culture, raise the performance bar and ensure strategic coherence across initiatives

Customer & Market Insight

  • Engage with customers and stakeholders to understand user needs and market dynamics
  • Incorporate customer feedback data and market insight into ongoing product decisions

Product Strategy & Roadmap

  • Own the product strategy and roadmap for US Tax capabilities, aligned to the broader Solutions portfolio
  • Translate high-level strategic direction into clear, actionable product plans and priorities
  • Identify opportunities to expand product capability and market coverage

Product Strategy & Execution

  • Lead cross-functional teams (engineering, design, data, QA) to identify and build the right solutions that enable our clients and business to thrive
  • Develop prototypes and concepts to test and validate ideas for desirability, feasibility and viability
  • Translate solutions into prioritized execution roadmap
  • Own backlog prioritisation and make trade-offs between scope, speed, and complexity
  • Ensure solutions are scalable, reliable, and aligned to broader platform architecture

Commercialisation & Growth

  • Partner with commercial and GTM teams to support product adoption, positioning, and revenue growth
  • Contribute to pricing, packaging, and monetisation strategies
  • Track and drive key performance metrics (e.g. usage, adoption, customer outcomes)
  • Identify and build key partnerships across the U.S. Tax ecosystem

Tax Domain Integration

  • Work closely with Tax Domain Principals / SMEs to:
    • Translate regulatory requirements into product functionality
    • Ensure tax logic is accurate, robust, and compliant
  • Monitor regulatory and competitive landscape to inform roadmap priorities
  • Balance regulatory complexity with product usability and delivery constraints

Cross-functional Leadership & Alignment

  • Partner closely with:
    • Senior Director, Solutions
    • Engineering leadership
    • Domain experts
  • Drive alignment across teams to ensure coordinated delivery of product outcomes
  • Persistence and a proactive, solutions-focused approach to delivering product success
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Influence decisions and drive progress across stakeholders without direct authority

Execution & Operational Excellence

  • Ensure clear product processes, communication, and delivery discipline
  • Drive visibility of progress, risks, and outcomes across stakeholders
  • Continuously improve ways of working to enhance delivery effectiveness
🎯 Who we're looking for:

We’re looking for an experienced product leader who combines strong product management expertise with a deep understanding of complex, regulated domains. This role will own the strategy, roadmap, and delivery of our US tax product capabilities within the broader solutions portfolio, partnering closely with engineering, domain experts, and go-to-market teams.

People, Product and Delivery Leadership

  • 8-12+ years of progressive product experience with 3+ years leading and developing other PMs
  • Demonstrated ability to hire, develop, and retain strong PMs; track record of stretching senior ICs and helping them grow
  • Proven track record building B2B SaaS solutions with material client and business impact
  • Proven experience owning a product area or domain, with accountability for roadmap definition and delivery

Domain & Problem-Solving Capability

  • Ability to work effectively with domain experts (e.g. Tax SMEs) to translate complex requirements into product solutions
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to operate in ambiguous or evolving environments

AI-Forward Product Sense

  • Hands-on experience shipping AI-native product experiences (LLM-powered, agentic, conversational, or workflow automation)
  • Strong intuition around what great looks like in next generation products and AI experiences

Technical Proficiency & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Ability to engage in discussions around system design, data models, APIs, AI/ML systems and platform considerations
  • Experience driving alignment across engineering, design, and domain stakeholders

Commercial & Customer Focus

  • Experience working with go-to-market, sales, and customer teams to support product adoption and growth
  • Ability to incorporate customer insight and market feedback into roadmap decisions
  • Understanding of commercial drivers impacting product success

Leadership & Influence

  • Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams without direct authority
  • Experience partnering with senior stakeholders (e.g. Senior Directors, Engineering leaders to align on strategy, secure investment and unblock execution
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
