Company Overview

Imagine a piloted air taxi that takes off vertically, then quietly carries you and your fellow passengers over the congested city streets below, enabling you to spend more time with the people and places that matter most. At Joby, we've been working to make that dream a reality since 2009 and we're now in the final stages of certifying our aircraft with the FAA. With plans to launch our aircraft in the US and Dubai, we're now scaling manufacturing and preparing for the launch of our commercial service.

Overview

We're seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Public Relations to shape Joby's external narrative as we prepare to launch a new mode of transportation. Reporting to Joby's Head of Marketing, Communications and Brand, you'll lead corporate, product and executive communications, build strong relationships with global media, and help tell the story of a category-defining technology. This is a highly visible role, working closely with the CEO, executive leadership, engineers, product teams and strategic partners to develop communications that build trust, shape public understanding and support Joby's commercial growth.About You:

You have 12+ years of experience leading communications for innovative technology companies and have helped launch products that captured mainstream attention across business, consumer and technology media.

You're equally comfortable developing long-term communications strategy and rolling up your sleeves to execute. You have excellent news judgment, understand how media has evolved, and know how to create stories that resonate across traditional, digital and emerging platforms.

You enjoy learning complex technical subjects and translating them into clear, engaging narratives for audiences ranging from investors and policymakers to customers and consumers. You've likely worked across corporate, consumer, financial and public affairs communications, and are confident advising founders and senior executives through both major announcements and challenging moments.

You're calm under pressure, exercise sound judgment, and know when to lead from the front and when to work quietly behind the scenes.

Responsibilities
