TL;DR: We’re hiring a Head of Research and Methodologies to build and lead our Insights Strategy organization, a core, customer-facing function at Listen Labs. In this role, you’ll define how insights are delivered at scale, partner with senior leaders at some of the world’s most innovative companies, and ensure customers consistently turn research into real decisions with measurable impact.

Sitting at the intersection of product, research, customer success, and revenue, this role directly shapes how Listen wins, expands, and becomes indispensable to our customers. Insights Strategy is not a support function; it’s central to how customers realize value, how accounts grow, and how Listen stays deeply embedded in decision-making.

You’ll help define what “modern insights” look like in an AI-native world while building and leading the team that delivers that value every day.

Background

Listen Labs is an AI-powered research platform that helps teams uncover insights from customer interviews in hours — not months. We help customers analyze conversations, surface themes, and make faster, smarter product decisions.

Company highlights — entirely product-led:

  • World-Class Team: Founded by serial entrepreneurs (previous AI exit), former co-founders, and talent from Jane Street, Twitter, Stripe, Affirm, Bain, Goldman Sachs, and many more Sequoia-backed startups (plus IOI/ICPC backgrounds).

  • Hypergrowth: We’re a 40-person team backed by Sequoia, growing from $0 to a $14M run-rate in under a year. We move fast, care deeply about craft, and love working with people who take ownership.

  • Traction: Rapid growth across segments with enterprise wins at Google, Microsoft, Nestlé, and P&G.

  • Performance: Industry-leading win rate driven by a highly differentiated product.

  • Market Validation: Consistently winning customers across all segments with over six-figure lands that lead to quick expansions.

  • Viral Product: Interviews are shared with tens of thousands of viewers, fueling PLG, organic expansion, and daily inbound from Fortune 500s.

What You’ll Do

  • Build & Lead the Insights Strategy Function

    • Own the vision, strategy, hiring, and operating model for the Insights Strategy org.

    • Define best practices for onboarding, insight delivery, executive readouts, and ongoing customer engagement.

    • Establish quality bars, playbooks, and scalable systems that maintain craft as we grow.

  • Drive Customer Impact & Retention

    • Ensure customers consistently translate Listen outputs into clear decisions, roadmap changes, and business outcomes.

    • Partner closely with Sales and Customer Success to drive expansion, multi-team adoption, and long-term retention.

    • Proactively identify risk, unblock stalled accounts, and step in where executive alignment is needed.

  • Shape How Insights Are Delivered at Scale

    • Evolve how qualitative and quantitative data are synthesized, packaged, and communicated.

    • Define what “great” insight looks like — from briefs and dashboards to exec-level narratives.

    • Experiment with new formats, workflows, and AI-augmented approaches to deliver insights faster and more effectively.

  • Be the Voice of the Customer Internally

    • Work closely with Product and Engineering to influence roadmap priorities based on customer needs.

    • Translate customer patterns into product strategy inputs.

    • Help shape Listen’s positioning around insights, outcomes, and ROI.

Who You Are

  • 7 - 12+ years of experience across insights, research, strategy, consulting, customer success, or analytics-driven roles.

  • Prior experience leading teams or building functions from the ground up.

  • Deeply fluent in qualitative research, with strong intuition for when and how to layer in quantitative signal.

  • Exceptional storyteller — you can move seamlessly from raw data to executive-level narratives.

  • Trusted advisor energy: comfortable pushing customers toward better decisions, not just responding to requests.

  • Highly operational and systems-oriented, while still caring deeply about craft.

  • Thrives in ambiguity, moves fast, and takes full ownership — no passengers, no politics.

Life at Listen Labs

  • Competitive Compensation: We’re backed by world-class investors, including Sequoia Capital, Conviction, AI Grant, and Pear VC, and offer competitive compensation packages with meaningful equity ownership.

    • Over $30B in market cap has been created in adjacent industries (Medallia, AlphaSense, GLG, Ipsos, Kantar). Our Sequoia partner, Bryan Schreier, was the first investor in Qualtrics—a $12B company tackling similar problems to ours.

  • Benefits that Support You: Comprehensive healthcare and dental coverage, flexible time off to recharge, and an environment that values balance and trust.

  • Room to Grow: As an early member of the team, you’ll have the opportunity to take on new responsibilities, shape processes from scratch, and grow alongside the company. We value people who want to stretch beyond their role and build something lasting.
