About the Role

We are seeking a strategic finance leader to join our team as the first finance hire. You will be tasked with developing our core financial infrastructure, instituting financial discipline, and providing oversight across all aspects of the operations, including the PACE program, real estate, financing activities, technology, expansion, and other G&A functions. You will have direct day-to-day responsibility for strategic finance, FP&A, revenue cycle management, and organizational planning. As a key member of the leadership team, you will immediately lead a team of existing external resources across accounting and other finance operations, and will be charged with building out the in-house finance function as Seen Health continues to grow.

As the financial leader of the business, you will cultivate relationships with capital partners and act as a key storyteller in pitching Seen Health’s growth potential. • Leverage FP&A and strategic modeling to align the company’s financial performance with current and future business strategy
  • Develop and refine Seen’s unit economics models and business model forecasts to support data-driven strategic decision-making
  • Establish and manage financial KPIs and an effective oversight process to enable rapid business decisions while mitigating risk
  • Lead the financial forecast planning cycles (monthly, quarterly, annually) for leadership & functional areas, including consolidation into overall plans
  • Build and manage finance team to support planning, contract and expense management, revenue cycle management, accounting and internal controls, tax and audit filings, real estate, and insurance
  • Work closely with the external and internal support on contracts, compliance, risk management, payer contracting, partnership opportunity evaluation, spend management, and execution
  • Work closely with leadership to facilitate headcount planning and manage financial policies, procedures, and controls

Qualifications

  • Passionate about the Seen Health mission and committed to serving vulnerable populations, including ethnic minority cultures and frail older adults.
  • 6+ years in a Strategic Finance role with P&L ownership, ideally in healthtech or other highly regulated industries (e.g. fintech, biotech); at least 1+ year managing direct reports
  • 2+ years in investment banking or consulting, ideally covering healthcare or other highly regulated industries
  • Ability to think operationally, strategically, and pragmatically about cash management, risk mitigation, and compliance; experience guiding a startup’s 0 to 1 finance vision, including prioritization and complex business planning.
  • Demonstrated experience building & leading strategic finance teams in an early stage business, ideally including understanding unit economics, FP&A, financial operations and risk assessment.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial issues in a clear, concise, and actionable manner for leadership, investors, peers, and all team members of the company
  • Experience building and presenting business performance to key stakeholders
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business or other related area required (years of relevant experience may be substituted), Master's or MBA strongly preferred
Location
  • San Francisco or Los Angeles strongly preferred.
  • Relocation benefits available.
