The Club at Ruby Hill is a private golf and lifestyle club set on approximately 225 acres in the Livermore Valley wine country near Pleasanton, California. The club combines a Jack Nicklaus Signature championship golf course with racquet sports, fitness and wellness, aquatics, dining, social events, and family programming.

The athletic operation includes lighted tennis courts with leagues, clinics, and instruction; a modern fitness and wellness center with strength and cardio equipment, group classes, personal training, recovery space, and an outdoor fitness area; and a heated Junior Olympic-size pool supporting lap swimming, youth lessons, aquatics programming, and family recreation.

Arcis Golf is seeking an experienced, energetic, and service-driven Athletic Director to lead racquets, fitness, and aquatics at The Club at Ruby Hill. A strong racquet-sports background is essential, including proven tennis and/or pickleball expertise. The Athletic Director will set the vision for all three areas, strengthen programming, develop the professional teams, grow participation and revenue, and deliver an exceptional member experience.

The ideal candidate is a visible, hands-on leader with sound judgment, strong financial and operational skills, and a natural ability to connect with members, families, and staff.

Reporting relationship: Reports to the General Manager and works closely with Arcis Golf’s regional and national leaders on strategy, programming, financial performance, safety, and member experience.

-  Lead the full athletic operation: Racquets, fitness, wellness, and aquatics

-  Build participation: Create welcoming programs for members of all ages and ability levels

-  Strengthen club life: Connect athletic programming with Ruby Hill’s broader member experience

-  Strategy and planning: Set the vision, annual business plan, budgets, and programming calendars for racquets, fitness, and aquatics

-  Team leadership: Recruit, train, schedule, coach, and evaluate professionals and support staff across all three areas

-  Racquet programming: Oversee tennis and pickleball instruction, clinics, leagues, camps, tournaments, and social events

-  Fitness and wellness: Guide personal training, group exercise, functional training, recovery, and outdoor fitness offerings

-  Aquatics: Direct pool staffing, safety procedures, swim programming, lessons, lap swimming, and seasonal activities

-  Business performance: Grow participation, retention, revenue, and member satisfaction while managing labor, pricing, equipment, and reporting

-  Standards and safety: Maintain well-presented facilities and strong risk-management, cleanliness, and compliance practices

-  Member engagement: Build relationships with members, families, guests, instructors, coaches, and community partners

-  Club collaboration: Work with membership, marketing, food and beverage, golf, and events teams to create connected experiences

-  Experience: Five or more years in athletic, recreation, fitness, racquet-sports, aquatics, or private-club operations, including at least two years in leadership

-  Racquet expertise: Strong tennis and/or pickleball background in programming, instruction, operations, and member engagement

-  Multi-department leadership: Proven ability to build effective teams and guide multiple athletic disciplines

- Business skills: Experience with budgets, payroll, pricing, contractors, events, and departmental reporting

-  Results: A record of growing participation, revenue, member satisfaction, and team performance

-  Communication: Strong organization, scheduling, relationship-building, and member-service skills

-  Certifications: Relevant racquet, fitness, aquatics, CPR, first-aid, or pool-operations credentials are preferred

-  Availability: Able to work evenings, weekends, holidays, leagues, and special events as needed

-  Lead the full athletic experience at a private lifestyle club in the heart of Livermore Valley wine country

-  Oversee lighted racquet courts, a newly reimagined fitness and wellness center, and a heated Junior Olympic-size pool

-  Shape connected programs that bring together tennis, pickleball, fitness, wellness, swimming, and family recreation

-  Collaborate with leaders across the Arcis Golf portfolio and access meaningful professional-development and career-growth opportunities

Salary Range $80,000-$120,000
