Position Overview

The Help Desk Technician I supports the mission of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention by assisting the Service Desk in providing 24/7 IT support to CDC staff. This role supports enterprise IT operations, collaborates with Service Desk personnel, and uses designated IT support tools to deliver responsive technical assistance.

Key ResponsibilitiesService Desk Support
  • Support the Service Desk weekend team.
  • Collaborate with other CDC Service Desk staff.
  • Assist in providing 24/7 IT support to CDC staff.
  • Drive key policies and procedures for IT support.
Technical Support
  • Utilize IT support tools provided by the Customer Engagement Branch.
  • Provide Windows 11 support.
  • Support O365 applications and VPN-related issues.
QualificationsEducation
  • High school diploma or GED.
Experience
  • 2+ years of related experience.
Skills
  • Technical skills with O365 applications and VPN support.
Other Requirements
  • Schedule:
    • Saturday–Sunday, 5:00 AM–6:00 PM
    • Monday–Tuesday, 12:00 PM–9:00 PM
  • New employee training schedule:
    • 7:30 AM–4:30 PM for four weeks
