HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST
Location: Remote – Supporting East Coast Employees
Work Hours: Must be able to work Eastern or Central Time business hours
Salary Range: $60,000–$70,000 annually
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Human Resources Specialist provides day-to-day HR support to employees, managers, and Human Resources Business Partners (HRBPs). This position assists with employee questions, HR administration, employee changes, reporting, documentation, and offboarding activities.
This is a high-volume, hands-on HR role for someone who enjoys helping employees, solving problems, and managing multiple priorities. The ideal candidate is an experienced HR Coordinator, HR Administrator, or HR Assistant who is ready to take the next step in their career and gain broader HR experience that can support future growth into an HR Business Partner (HRBP) role.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide day-to-day support to employees and managers regarding pay, benefits, timecards, company policies and procedures, and general HR questions.
- Assist employees with HR processes and timecard issues, including hands-on support through screen sharing when needed.
- Support HR Business Partners with employee questions, documentation, and other HR activities.
- Prepare and process Employee Action Forms (EAFs) for hires, promotions, transfers, compensation changes, manager or department changes, status changes, and terminations.
- Prepare employee change letters and other employment documentation based on information provided by managers and HRBPs.
- Maintain accurate employee records, personnel files, and HR system information.
- Prepare HR reports and assist with employee data audits.
- Facilitate verification of employment requests and provide guidance regarding The Work Number.
- Support employee offboarding, including communications, documentation, tracking, and internal coordination.
- Track outstanding HR documentation and action items to ensure timely completion.
- Support HR projects, process improvements, and automation initiatives.
- Draft clear and professional communications to employees and managers.
- Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive employee information.
- Work independently in a remote environment while remaining responsive and connected to the HR team.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- 2+ years of Human Resources experience preferred, ideally as an HR Coordinator, HR Administrator, HR Assistant, or similar role.
- Experience working as part of a larger HR team in a high-volume environment strongly preferred.
- Experience providing direct HR support to employees and managers.
- Working knowledge of HR practices, policies, procedures, and the employee lifecycle.
- Experience preparing EAFs, employee change documentation, or employment letters preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to independently draft professional employee and manager communications.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, follow-through, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to recognize when an issue should be escalated.
- Ability to handle confidential employee information with discretion.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, and Word, preferred.
- HRIS experience preferred.
- Ability to work independently and productively in a remote, high-volume environment.
- Must be able to work Eastern or Central Time business hours.

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
This role operates in a remote professional office environment and utilizes standard office equipment and technology. The position may involve prolonged periods of computer work. Flexibility to work additional hours when necessary to meet business needs and deadlines may be required.
COMPENSATION
Salary Range: $60,000–$70,000 annually.
The compensation range represents CMG’s good-faith estimate for this position at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on relevant HR experience, job-related knowledge and skills, qualifications, education, geographic location, and other business and organizational considerations.
