Your Role and Impact

This role is designed for candidates who want to be at the forefront of the evolution of portfolio management—where investment judgment is increasingly augmented by data, automation, and AI-driven workflows.

BlackRock’s Fixed Income platform is evolving toward a more technology-driven, AI-native portfolio management model. We are seeking an Associate-level Multi-Sector Portfolio Manager who combines strong investment fundamentals with the ability to apply data, automation, and emerging AI capabilities to real portfolio management workflows.

This is a highly differentiated opportunity to work at the intersection of public markets investing and next-generation portfolio management systems, with exposure to how investment processes are being scaled and transformed across the firm.

Your Responsibilities:

Portfolio Management

  • Support the management of multi-sector fixed income portfolios across institutional and ETF mandates

  • Assist with portfolio construction, positioning, and trade implementation

  • Monitor portfolio performance, risk exposures, and attribution

AI & Workflow-Enabled Investing

  • Apply AI tools and data-driven workflows to enhance:

    • portfolio monitoring

    • risk identification

    • reporting and analytics

  • Partner with senior PMs and technology teams to improve how investment decisions are generated and executed

  • Contribute to initiatives focused on automation and scaling of investment processes

Process & Platform Improvement

  • Identify inefficiencies and contribute to improving portfolio management workflows

  • Support integration of new tools and analytics into platforms such as Aladdin

  • Help scale best practices across portfolios and teams

You Have

  • 2–5 years of experience in asset management, trading, or investment analytics

  • Strong understanding of fixed income markets (multi-sector preferred)

  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills

  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple workstreams

  • Demonstrated ability to apply data and/or AI concepts to real-world workflows

  • Experience with Python, SQL, or data tools and dashboards or analytical reporting

  • Strong interest in how AI and automation are changing investment processes

  • BA/BS required

  • Progress toward CFA (or CFA charterholder) preferred

For San Francisco, CA Only the salary range for this position is USD$116,000.00 - USD$155,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance. For Atlanta, GA Only the salary range for this position is USD$105,000.00 - USD$140,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
