As a Industry Executive on the Innovation Economy team, you will be responsible for growing and retaining profitable relationships within the dynamic innovation economy segment. You will hire and direct team members in their business development efforts to grow and retain profitable banking relationships. In this role you will be expected to maintain a portfolio of your own while leading the banking team, however the portfolio size is typically smaller in recognition of management responsibilities. The IE team is responsible for supporting the unique needs of VC firms, founders and high-growth, venture-backed companies across multiple sectors including enterprise software, applied technology, internet, fintech, climate tech, life sciences, health tech and disruptive commerce.
The Innovation Economy team is part of J.P. Morgan's Commercial Bank. In this role you will be the focal point of client acquisition and ongoing relationships with the world's most innovative companies. We work both independently and as part of a dynamic team to deliver the entire firm to our clients.

Job Responsibilities
- Demonstrate the ability to build a brand within your market that represents JPMorgan as the "Leading Innovation Economy bank serving the best and most innovative companies"
- Develop new business in your market by acquiring new relationships, deepening existing relationships by delivering the entire Firm, and leading internal strategic discussions across all our solutions including payments and credit, and introductions to partners in derivatives, investment banking and private banking
- Relentlessly focus on seeking out the best and most diverse founders powering innovation by leveraging a referral network built through business activities and relationship development
- Champion a culture of innovation and a customer centric mindset balanced with the ability to manage risk (credit, operational, and reputational) appropriately
- Be passionate about innovation, the start-up eco-system and entrepreneurship, leading to a desire to stay up to date with industry trends to identify opportunities for innovation or strategic partnerships

- Find ways to drive efficiency with existing technical infrastructure through automation while embracing the innovative opportunities offered by new technologies
- Deep experience and sound judgement in venture debt and recurring revenue lending
- Strong relationship with investors including venture capital, growth equity and private equity
Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills
- Minimum of 15 years account relationship and management experience
- Understanding of Commercial Banking products and services with knowledge of the region
- Ability to mobilize internal networks and resources
- Demonstrated experience of meeting or exceeding sales goals; proven top individual contributor
- Management experience in a Commercial Bank setting, specifically leading a commercial lending sales team with proficiency in building and maintaining positive client relationships
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills; able to effectively communicate clearly and concisely
- Creative solution and problem solving abilities and excellent business judgment with the ability to multitask
- Securities Industry Essentials licenses required or must obtain within 180 days of hire
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills
- Bachelor's degree and formal credit training preferred
- Strong technology experience; digital background preferred
- Excellent organizational, influencing and interpersonal skills
- Self-directed, proactive, and creative: use sound judgment and navigates ambiguity to get things done
