Who We Are
Prowess Consulting is a consulting firm that specializes in helping the largest enterprises in the technology industry define, manage, benchmark, and market their solutions and services. We take great pride in investing the time and effort to gain a deep understanding of our clients’ technologies, their customers, and the strategies they need to be successful in the market. Our team of technology and marketing experts is immersed in the technology trends that affect our clients’ businesses, so we can add value at every stage of engagement to help them succeed.
Who You Are
Prowess Consulting is looking for an information analysis to work on a per-deliverable, freelance basis. This person is an information wrangler—someone who can make complex spreadsheets and data patterns/trends legible to non-specialists. Someone who can tease out key information from a spreadsheet and then use that information to tell marketing stories. The ideal candidate will have experience analyzing business, technical, research, and benchmark numbers to identify trends, surface insights, and support client decision-making. This role requires strong interpretive judgment, including the ability to work with complex spreadsheets, research findings, benchmark numbers, and other source materials. Collaboration with team members in the Pacific time zone will be required. To be considered for this role you must reside in the United States.
The Role
  • Analyze complex spreadsheets, benchmark numbers, and research findings, to identify actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with writers and engineers to verify and implement those insights.
  • Identify trends, patterns, anomalies, and opportunities within large spreadsheets and communicate findings to internal and client stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with strategists, analysts, designers, and subject-matter experts to support marketing collateral with numbers-driven recommendations.
  • Work as a member of a cross-functional, multi-purpose team where success depends on every member.
  • Deliver project outputs on time according to a schedule you help define.
  • Work effectively in a constantly changing environment, prioritize multiple tasks, work under minimal/remote supervision, and provide frequent status updates while juggling multiple projects.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex spreadsheets, reports, research, or benchmark results and identify the most relevant findings
  • Excellent math skills and advanced spreadsheet skills are required
  • Spreadsheet chart-creation and other data-visualization skills required
  • Experience transforming numbers into information and simplifying complex ideas into digestible and relatable examples are required
  • Strong analytical judgment, with the ability to distinguish meaningful patterns from background noise and draw defensible conclusions
  • Experience working with quantitative and qualitative sources
  • Proven ability to quickly grasp new technologies, understand supporting information, and identify the insights that matter most to a target audience
  • Comfort working with ambiguity, incomplete source materials, and evolving client direction while maintaining accuracy
  • Agency experience is a plus
Additional Details
The pay range for this position is approximately $45 – 75 per hour, defined on a per-project basis.
