Design and maintain secure AWS infrastructures, manage IaC, ensure high-availability systems, implement monitoring, and collaborate with application teams.
The summary above was generated by AI

We are an innovative technology company providing a cutting-edge, AI-powered cloud platform for the construction industry. Created by industry experts with deep estimating experience, our software dramatically streamlines the pre-construction process. Our solution uses advanced machine learning to automate traditionally time-consuming takeoff tasks, helping estimators work up to 80% faster while reducing costly errors.

Our collaborative platform enables real-time teamwork, instant drawing analysis, and features a revolutionary conversational AI interface that transforms how professionals interact with construction plans. Founded by construction industry veterans, our award-winning application automates the takeoff process, enabling estimators to analyze blueprints in seconds rather than hours or days.

We are looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to design, build, and operate secure, highly available, and cost-efficient AWS infrastructure. The role focuses on Infrastructure-as-code, compliance-driven cloud architecture (SOC 2 and beyond), and operating scalable, high-throughput systems. This is a hands-on position requiring practical experience in production environments.

What you’ll do
  • Design and maintain secure AWS architectures compliant with SOC 2 and aligned with higher compliance standards (e.g., FedRAMP).

  • Build and manage infrastructure using an IaC-first approach (Terraform and/or Pulumi), integrated into CI/CD pipelines.

  • Architect and operate high-availability, multi-AZ systems with no single points of failure.

  • Design cost-effective and scalable solutions for high-bandwidth workloads, file processing, and long-running background tasks.

  • Implement and operate serverless and container-based workloads, with a strong understanding of runtime behavior, scaling, and cold starts.

  • Establish monitoring, observability, and performance dashboards, providing a single source of truth for system health and service performance.

  • Investigate and resolve infrastructure, performance, and security issues end-to-end, including collaboration with application teams.

What you bring

Must-haves

  • Hands-on experience managing production AWS environments.

  • Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform and/or Pulumi).

  • Proven experience designing and maintaining high-availability and fault-tolerant systems.

  • Solid understanding of cloud security, data privacy, and compliance principles (SOC 2 required; FedRAMP or similar a plus).

  • Experience operating high-throughput systems in an enterprise or scale-up environment.

  • Practical experience with monitoring, logging, and observability in distributed systems.

  • Familiarity with PostgreSQL and comfort working with application code (Node.js, TypeScript, Python) when required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with AWS services supporting AI/ML development and inference, such as managed model hosting, GPU-backed workloads, vector storage, or large-scale data processing pipelines.

  • Experience with automated testing tools, with a strong emphasis on load and performance testing in cloud environments.

Why Togal?
  • You’ll work on real, production-scale systems where infrastructure decisions have immediate and visible impact.

  • You’ll have ownership and influence, not just a ticket queue.

  • Togal values engineering rigor—security, reliability, and performance are built in, not bolted on.

  • You’ll collaborate with a strong engineering team building data-intensive and AI-driven products.

  • The role rewards people who enjoy solving hard infrastructure problems thoughtfully, not firefighting by default.

We are an equal opportunity employer committed to building a diverse team. We welcome applications from candidates of all backgrounds who are passionate about using technology to transform the construction industry.

Join us in revolutionizing pre-construction estimating with the power of AI!

What you need to know about the San Francisco Tech Scene

San Francisco and the surrounding Bay Area attracts more startup funding than any other region in the world. Home to Stanford University and UC Berkeley, leading VC firms and several of the world’s most valuable companies, the Bay Area is the place to go for anyone looking to make it big in the tech industry. That said, San Francisco has a lot to offer beyond technology thanks to a thriving art and music scene, excellent food and a short drive to several of the country’s most beautiful recreational areas.

Key Facts About San Francisco Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 365,500; 13.9% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Google, Apple, Salesforce, Meta
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, fintech, consumer technology, software
  • Funding Landscape: $50.5 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Sequoia Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Bessemer Venture Partners, Greylock Partners, Khosla Ventures, Kleiner Perkins
  • Research Centers and Universities: Stanford University; University of California, Berkeley; University of San Francisco; Santa Clara University; Ames Research Center; Center for AI Safety; California Institute for Regenerative Medicine
