This is a full time, remote Summer Internship that can be based anywhere in the United States or Canada.
Calix is looking for a Summer intern to join our Inside Sales team. In this role, you will be part of a unique and award-winning internship program within the company. The program provides the opportunity to learn new skills through training and on the job learning. The duration of the program is expected to be 90 days.
In this role you will collaborate across work functions and interact with customers and prospects. We are looking for someone who is passionate about impacting client experience and sales results through high outreach activity. Effective measures should include organizing meetings for account owners, advancing key projects that create new growth opportunities for the business, and increasing event registration. This is an exciting opportunity for any aspiring Sales or Marketing student to come into a high growth, fast paced environment and get real hands-on experience in Sales and Account Management.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Work with key internal stakeholders to support Sales programs. 
  • Team with multiple sales organizations on a variety of projects focused on market expansion.
  • Update our CRM tools for complete data for marketing, demand generation and sales activities. 
  • Research details in Salesforce.com (SFDC) and other tools.
  • Gather content to support Sales enablement.
  • Assist with data general data clean up initiatives. 
  • Assist with adding new segmentation information to existing accounts and contacts (job function, contact information, product preferences, product power users, etc.)
  • Contacting assigned prospects to set appointments or gather information.

Qualifications:

  • Working towards a Marketing/Communications/Business/Sales degree with a preference for Juniors and Seniors with prior work experience.
  • Collaborative and curious.
  • Entrepreneurial or experienced in retail sales.
  • Strong communication skills and excellent telephone presence.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Salesforce.com (SFDC) or CRM experience preferred.
  • Experience in a role or project requiring analytical problem solving and data analysis.
  • Able to work effectively with a high tolerance for ambiguity within fast changing environments.
  • Comfortable with calling on prospects to generate appointments.
  • Microsoft Office software suite experience (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI).
  • Able to work for the complete summer break (May - August or June - September).

Compensation will vary based on geographical location (see below) within the United States. Individual pay is determined by the candidate's location of residence and multiple factors, including job-related skills, experience, and education.

San Francisco Bay Area Only:

23.00 - 29.90 USD Hourly

National Major Cities plus, CA, CO, NY Metro area:

20.00 - 26.00 USD Hourly

Regional plus NY:

18.00 - 23.40 USD Hourly
