Inside Sales Representative

The Opportunity

Join Hitachi Energy as an Inside Sales Representative and play a key role in supporting projects that keep power flowing to homes, businesses, and critical infrastructure. In this role, you’ll work closely with account managers and customers to manage orders, track delivery timelines, and ensure accurate documentation for proposals and contracts. You’ll coordinate input from multiple product groups to develop bids, resolve inquiries, and maintain clear communication throughout the order lifecycle. Your ability to manage priorities across varied projects will help ensure timely responses and equitable solutions for customers. By supporting the execution of inside sales programs, you’ll contribute to the reliability and efficiency of power transmission and distribution systems—helping advance a sustainable energy future.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Execute daily customer activities, including order entry, tracking, and timely response to inquiries.

  • Manage order coordination with local business units and communicate delivery timelines.

  • Develop bids and proposals responsive to customer requirements using Hitachi Energy tools and processes.

  • Write and revise proposal and contract documents, compile data for reporting scope, terms, cost, and profitability.

  • Participate in customer and internal meetings to exchange information and review contract requirements.

  • Investigate technical issues and support corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

  • Execute change orders and assist with collection of overdue invoices.

  • Provide periodic reporting for outstanding orders, Vendor Managed Inventory, or Blanket Order management.

  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your Background

  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business or related field

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of customer support experience in Industrial, EPC, Utility, or related fields (5 years preferred).

  • General knowledge of power transmission and distribution products/systems; power generation experience preferred.

  • Previous experience with business-to-business customer support.

  • Familiarity with CRMs and web portals; knowledge of SAP and Salesforce preferred.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
