About the Role
We're seeking an experienced insurance and billing consultant to advise on our expansion of insurance offerings and optimization of revenue cycle operations. This role will provide strategic guidance on payer relations, contract negotiations, billing compliance, and reimbursement optimization as we scale our insurance product.
What You’ll Do
- Advise on payer contracting strategy and negotiations with commercial insurers ● Review and optimize current payer relations and revenue cycle workflows including eligibility verification and payment posting
- Provide guidance on billing compliance and coding optimization for telehealth services ● Support development of claims management processes and denial reduction strategies ● Advise on reimbursement strategies across multiple payer types and state regulations ● Guide insurance product development and go-to-market strategy for new coverage offerings
- Provide strategic recommendations on payer mix optimization and network expansion Required Qualifications
- 5+ years experience in healthcare payer relations, insurance operations, and revenue cycle management, ideally specific to telehealth
- Deep expertise in medical billing, coding, and reimbursement for commercial payers ● Proven track record negotiating payer contracts and managing payer relationships ● Strong understanding of telehealth billing regulations and compliance requirements ● Experience with claims processing, denial management, and appeals ● Experience with CMS regulations, Medicare billing requirements, and federal reimbursement programs
Nice To Have
- Experience with revenue cycle management platforms such as Candid Health or similar billing automation tools
- Familiarity with clearinghouse operations and payer connectivity platforms like Availity Who You Are
- Deep experience across payer contracting, credentialing, claims processing, and revenue cycle management. You understand how commercial payers, Medicare, and state programs operate.
- Current on healthcare billing regulations, compliance requirements, and payer policies across multiple states.
- Proven track record negotiating with payers and collaborating across clinical, finance, and operations teams.
- You use analytics to optimize reimbursement, reduce denials, and improve performance. ● You deliver results in fast-moving environments with shifting priorities.
Mochi Health is an in-person company based in San Francisco, CA. Our team works together in person five days a week to foster collaboration, innovation, and strong connections. We believe that face-to-face interaction builds a culture of excellence and allows us to deliver the best outcomes for the patients and providers we serve.
For office-based roles, the standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Actual hours may vary depending on business needs and role responsibilities. All employees receive meal and rest breaks in accordance with applicable state and local laws.
For designated remote roles, this in-person policy does not apply.
