Stellar Cyber is seeking a hands-on Manager of Integration Software Engineering to lead and support a team that builds and maintains integrations between our platform and third-party security and enterprise technologies.

This role is designed for a first-line manager who remains close to day-to-day engineering. You will coach the team, help set priorities, remove blockers, review technical approaches, and step in to troubleshoot or contribute when needed. You do not need to be an expert in every technology in our environment. We are looking for a well-rounded engineering leader with strong backend fundamentals, sound judgment, and the ability to bring out the best in others.

This position is based in the United States and may be performed remotely.
Please note, as part of our interview process, we may invite candidates for an in-person interview to meet with our team.

What You Will Do

Lead and Develop the Team

  • Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, feedback, and support to a team of software engineers.
  • Set clear expectations and create an environment where engineers can do their best work.
  • Hold regular one-on-one meetings and support performance, growth, and career development.
  • Help recruit, interview, hire, and onboard new team members as the organization grows.
  • Build a collaborative and accountable team culture across a distributed organization.

Stay Hands-On and Close to the Work

  • Understand the team's active work, technical challenges, and customer commitments.
  • Participate in design discussions, code reviews, troubleshooting, and technical decision-making.
  • Help engineers break down complex problems and choose practical, maintainable solutions.
  • Contribute directly when needed, particularly during complex integrations, production issues, or critical delivery periods.
  • Promote good engineering practices in code quality, testing, documentation, security, and operational readiness.

Guide Delivery and Collaboration

  • Work with Product Management and partner teams to clarify priorities, scope work, and establish realistic plans.
  • Balance new integration development with maintenance, customer needs, and technical debt.
  • Identify risks and dependencies early, remove blockers, and keep stakeholders informed.
  • Partner effectively with Architecture, Quality Engineering, DevOps, Customer Success, and Support.
  • Improve team processes without adding unnecessary complexity or overhead.

Use AI Practically

  • Encourage thoughtful use of AI-assisted development, testing, documentation, and code-review tools.
  • Help the team automate repetitive work where it meaningfully improves speed or quality.
  • Apply sound judgment to AI-generated output, with appropriate human review for security, reliability, and maintainability.

Requirements
  • Experience managing or formally leading software engineers in a first-line leadership capacity.
  • A hands-on leadership style and the willingness to remain technically engaged with the team.
  • Solid backend software-engineering experience in Python, Go, Java, or a comparable language.
  • Experience building, integrating, or operating production software and APIs.
  • A practical understanding of microservices, distributed applications, or cloud-based systems.
  • The ability to translate product or customer needs into clear, achievable engineering work.
  • Strong communication, prioritization, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • A track record of coaching engineers and delivering reliable software in an evolving environment.
  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Cybersecurity products or domains such as SIEM, SOAR, EDR, NDR, XDR, or security automation.
  • API and integration patterns such as REST, GraphQL, webhooks, streaming APIs, OAuth, or rate limiting.
  • Message queues, event-driven systems, or workflow orchestration technologies.
  • AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, containers, or Kubernetes.
  • Large-scale data processing, observability, incident management, or site-reliability practices.
  • AI-assisted engineering tools, LLM APIs, function calling, MCP, or agent-based workflows.
  • Experience working with globally distributed engineering teams.

Benefits
  • Pre-IPO Stock Options (equity opportunity)
  • Medical, Dental & Vision care
  • Life Insurance
  • 401(k)
  • Employee Assistance Program
  • Paid time off
  • Referral Program
  • Rewards and Recognition Program

Why join us?

  • Work at the forefront of cybersecurity innovation within a dynamic, fast-growing team.
  • Opportunity to significantly influence and shape the integration architecture of a next-generation SecOps platform powered by AI and automation.
  • Competitive salary, comprehensive benefits, and ample career growth opportunities.

The base compensation range for this role is USD 200,000-275,000 per year. Total compensation includes bonus opportunity and equity, and will vary based on candidate location.
