Position Summary

At e.l.f. Beauty, we are committed to advancing sustainability. This is a temporary, fixed-term position with an expected duration of 10 months. This position is designed for coverage for a period of absence. The ideal candidate can work with existing processes while driving improvement as needed.

Reporting to the VP, Sustainability and Transformation, the Interim Manager, Sustainability Reporting will help shape and drive the company's sustainability reporting and disclosure strategy. This role is focused primarily on leading the planning and execution of e.l.f. Beauty's ESG/sustainability reporting, data collection, and verification activities. The ideal candidate has deep knowledge of the ESG reporting and disclosure landscape and experience working with publicly traded companies on sustainability reporting.

Responisbibilities

    Manage Mandatory Sustainability Compliance & Incidental Activities

    · Manage compliance and mandatory disclosures and trainings across jurisdictions including:

          -UK Modern Slavery Act, Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting (SECR), and Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS)

          -Canada's Fighting Against Forced Labor and Child Labor in Supply Chains Act

          -California Transparency in Supply Chains Act, SB 261, and SB 253

          -EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive

          -Other emerging sustainability-related laws as applicable

    · Review and revise sustainability content in SEC filings, including the 10-K, proxy statements, and Conflict Minerals Disclosure.

    · Own e.l.f.'s sustainability compliance roadmap including convening stakeholders and preparing/submitting all compliance documentation on an ongoing basis.

    · Conduct ongoing gap assessments, mapping the sustainability program against compliance requirements and voluntary frameworks; recommend and implement improvements.

    · Coordinate sustainability reporting and program management across Sourcing, Legal, Finance, and Accounting.

    · Support review and maintenance of ESG and sustainability-related policies.

    · Support preparation of board education materials on upcoming sustainability regulations and e.l.f.'s compliance readiness.

    · Respond to government information requests and attend regulator workshops.


    Manage Voluntary Disclosures

    · Serve as the company subject matter expert for current and emerging voluntary ESG reporting standards and frameworks (e.g., GRI, SASB etc.)

    · Support the execution of e.l.f. Beauty’s materiality and climate risk assessments.

    · Lead and project-manage e.l.f.'s annual CDP report, including preparing and overseeing content across all modules.

    · Lead and project-manage the annual voluntary corporate sustainability reports.

    · Respond to rater/ranker information requests; engage with them to ensure accuracy and improve e.l.f.'s ratings performance.


    Support Customer & Supplier Engagement

    · Respond to customer requests for information on e.l.f.'s sustainability compliance and programs.

    · Review sustainability requirements in new customer agreements and respond to ethical sourcing inquiries.


    Enhance Processes, Audit Readiness, and SOX Alignment

    · Evaluate reporting practices, processes, controls, and systems; identify gaps and recommend improvements.

    · Lead efforts to strengthen controls and systems supporting ESG disclosures for financial and non-financial reporting.

    · Partner with Finance/Internal Audit on internal and external ESG data audits; ensure SOX compliance and alignment.

Requirements

    · 5+ years’ experience in managing ESG and sustainability disclosures, with demonstrated ESG reporting responsibilities, either working for a public company, law firm, Big 4, or any other consulting/client advisory role.

    · Direct experience in mapping regulations and ongoing developments across countries and continents.

    · Strong technical knowledge and direct experience with ESG reporting standards and frameworks (e.g., CDP, SASB, EU CSRD, SEC, relevant US state law)

    · Prior experience using ESG reporting and data management systems.

    · Working knowledge of social and environmental issues such as climate, water, plastics, biodiversity, supply chain, human rights, social impact, etc.

    · Proficient in defining, analyzing, and communicating both quantitative and qualitative information.

    · Proven project management skills: detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to effectively manage multiple workstreams.

    · Inclusive and collaborative across a range of internal stakeholders at all levels, with demonstrated ability to manage and lead by influence.

    · Effective in conducting research and synthesizing information and recommendations for senior leaders.

    · Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal and PowerPoint

The base salary range for this role is listed above. 
 
Total compensation includes base salary, annual company-based performance bonus, and equity. Under e.l.f.’s annual bonus program, employees are eligible to earn up to 200% of their target bonus when company performance exceeds defined goals. In addition, e.l.f. provides a variety of other benefits to employees, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, a retirement savings plan, gender neutral parental leave, and unlimited paid time off. The amount of total compensation (including base salary) offered will be based on a wide range of factors, including geographic location, experience, specific skills, and qualifications.
