Responsibilities

Howmet Fastening Systems (HFS) is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Intern in our Fullerton, CA location.

We are seeking highly motivated and energetic students for the 2026 summer intern program at Howmet Fastening Systems. The program consists of 10-12 weeks of structured hands-on training involving plant tours, seminars, networking events, and projects selected to add direct value to the business. At the conclusion of the program, interns will present their projects to plant managers, supervisors, and mentors. An internship at Howmet Fastenings Systems will provide an invaluable experience that you can utilize in any roles, and it’s Howmet Aerospace’s goal to evaluate our interns for potential entry-level openings.

This position will report directly to the site’s Engineering Manager with daily coaching from the team’s leaders, engineers, and technicians. The Howmet Aerospace Summer Internship Program will include engaging in impactful projects to assist the company and the student’s professional development.

  • Categorize nutforming tooling for Top 35 dies.  

  • Create or modify tooling layouts for nutforming and formax dies. 

     

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Able to work full time, onsite for a minimum of 12 consecutive weeks beginning in May or June 2026
  • Able to provide own transportation for position at Fullerton, CA
  • Relocation assistance not provided
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be enrolled in a bachelor’s degree or graduate degree program in an engineering discipline by the start of employment.
  • Minimum completion of Sophomore level coursework from an accredited institution.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Teams, etc.). Must be proficient working in a Microsoft systems environment. Excel is required.
  • SolidWorks or equivalent 3D modeling is required. 

  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic 5S recommended. 
  • Prior Internship work experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical skills

The salary for this position is $25 per hour.
