Location: Austin, Texas or New York City, NY

Program Dates: Monday, June 1, 2026, through Friday, August 14, 2026

Our Internship Program follows a hybrid schedule (three days on-site, two days remote). Visa sponsorship and relocation assistance are not available for this program.

Intern - News and Insights

Realtor.com’s News & Insights is the largest publisher of original residential real estate news in the United States—and we are seeking an energetic and talented trainee reporter with a passion for all things real estate to learn from and contribute to our team. 

In this role, you will be guided to use your editorial and analytical skills to cover a range of topics that cater to home buyers, sellers, renters and experts in the housing market. 

You will be tasked with writing a range of articles on a daily basis—whether it be the latest on housing data with expert analysis from our in-house Economists, a solid piece of advice for home owners or sellers, policy changes, or even the latest in celebrity real estate news. 

You will be adept at thinking about different ways in which to tell a story and be able to think of ideas that will increase distribution on non-traditional platforms.

In addition to this, you’ll be tasked with coming up with and pitching compelling ideas for articles that will drive audience growth.  

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • You must be able to write a set number of stories per day for http://Realtor.com ’s News & Insights section 
  • You will be pitching residential real estate stories on a daily basis and be able to uncover exclusives
  • You will be working on reports that are steeped in economic data, so must be able to translate key insights to a consumer audience 
  • You will have a keen interest in the real estate industry, and must keep up to date on trends 
  • We will work with you to find your niche to ensure that you work in a vertical where you can play to your strengths. 

REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Currently enrolled in a journalism course with graduation date of December 2026 or June 2027
  • Be able to provide examples of published work, whether in local or national news publications, or student media
  • Strong writing and analytical skills 
  • Familiarity working in content management systems
  • Experience with social media 

**This is a hybrid role where you’ll be required to work in our Austin or NYC office.
