About this role
We are seeking an exceptional engineering leader to join Aladdin Engineering as
Director, Investment Operations & Portfolio Services Engineering.
This leader will be responsible for defining and executing the technology strategy, modernization, and operational excellence of a portfolio of mission-critical platforms that power portfolio services and investment operations across Aladdin. These capabilities provide the trusted portfolio data, processing, and workflows that connect investment decisions with trading, accounting, risk, performance, client reporting, and operational servicing functions.
The successful candidate will lead globally distributed engineering teams, drive platform modernization, accelerate AI-enabled capabilities, and partner closely with Product, Operations, Architecture, and Engineering leadership to deliver scalable and resilient solutions supporting trillions of dollars in assets.
Key Responsibilities
Technology & Platform Leadership
- Define and execute the technology strategy for Portfolio Services and Investment Operations platforms.
- Drive modernization through cloud-native architectures, distributed systems, automation, and AI-enabled solutions.
- Establish architectural direction focused on scalability, resiliency, performance, observability, and operational excellence.
- Partner across Product, Operations, Risk, Accounting, Trading, and Engineering to align technology investments with business outcomes.
Engineering Leadership
- Lead and develop engineering managers, architects, and senior engineers across globally distributed teams.
- Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, engineering excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Build organizational depth and strengthen leadership succession.
Business & Operational Excellence
- Deliver a portfolio of strategic initiatives while balancing long-term modernization with business priorities.
- Improve platform reliability, operational efficiency, automation, and client experience.
- Own platform health, resiliency, risk management, and production excellence.
- Champion engineering practices that prioritize stability, transparency, and operational discipline.
AI & Transformation
- Accelerate adoption of AI-enabled engineering and operational capabilities.
- Drive intelligent automation, exception management, workflow optimization, and developer productivity improvements.
- Simplify legacy platforms and create scalable foundations for future growth.
Required Experience
- 15+ years of software engineering experience with significant leadership responsibilities.
- Proven success leading large-scale engineering organizations and mission-critical platforms.
- Experience managing engineering managers and globally distributed teams.
- Track record delivering modernization and transformation programs in complex environments.

- Experience with AI-enabled engineering, automation, and operational platforms.
- Knowledge of portfolio management, investment operations, accounting, cash, reconciliations, trading, risk, or related financial technology domains.
