Fingerprint empowers developers to stop online fraud at the source.

We work on turning radical new ideas in the fraud detection space into reality. Our products are developer-focused and our clients range from solo developers to publicly traded companies. We are a globally dispersed, 100% remote company with a strong open-source focus. Our flagship open-source project is FingerprintJS (27K stars on GitHub).

We have raised $77M and are backed by Craft Ventures (previously invested in Tesla, Facebook, Airbnb ), Nexus Venture Partners (previously invested in Postman, Apollo.io, MinIO, Druva) and Uncorrelated Ventures (previously invested in Redis, Rollbar & Gradle).

We have noticed a rise in recruiting impersonations across the industry, where scammers attempt to access candidates' personal and financial information through fake interviews and offers. All Fingerprint recruiting email communications will always come from the @fingerprint.com domain. Any outreach claiming to be from Fingerprint via other sources should be ignored.

Why We Need This Position:

We are a forward-thinking company dedicated to enhancing our capabilities in mobile fraud detection and prevention. Our goal is to stay ahead of competitors, ensuring our ongoing relevance in the market. We are looking for a passionate iOS Security Researcher to join our team and help us push the boundaries of what's possible in this field.

As we aim to continuously improve our fraud prevention techniques, we need an innovative individual who can develop and enhance signals for our native iOS mobile SDK. The role involves collaborating with web and Android researchers to improve iOS Web identification accuracy and other Smart Signals, including VPN detection within iOS/Android browsers. The ideal candidate will continually explore new possibilities and develop unconventional methods to tackle fraud-related challenges.

Responsibilities:
  • Extract Raw Information: Utilize iOS developer APIs to extract data artifacts for better and stable device posture and VPN detection.
  • Innovation and Security: Apply expertise to innovate and enhance our fraud prevention products, SDKs, and APIs. Develop methods to ensure competitors cannot reverse-engineer our findings.
  • Documentation and PoC Code: Document findings and write non-production proof-of-concept code.
  • Collaboration with Web Researchers: Investigate findings in mobile browsers using iOS browser APIs. Explore specific parts of the iOS for data extraction and identification.
  • Task Prioritization: Work on tasks prioritized according to business needs, such as detecting remote device control.
  • Act as the iOS security subject-matter expert, responsible for OS-level research and hands-on low-level tasks across the company.
Requirements:
  • Educational Background: Degree or background in security.
  • Track Record: Proven research history demonstrated through published articles, conference talks, technical blog posts, or open-source repositories related to iOS security, reverse engineering, or mobile threat analysis.
  • Mindset: Hacking mindset or a keen interest in security and fraud prevention.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong grasp of iOS/mobile technology and security concepts.
  • Experience: Experience in reverse-engineering or similar research projects.

Offers vary depending on, but not limited to, relevant experience, education, certifications/licenses, skills, training, and market conditions.

Due to regulatory and security reasons, there’s a small number of countries where we cannot have Fingerprint teammates based. Additionally, because Fingerprint is an all-remote company and people can join our workforce from almost any country, we do not sponsor visas. Fingerprint teammates need to be authorized to work from their home location.

We are dedicated to creating an inclusive work environment for everyone. We embrace and celebrate the unique experiences, perspectives and cultural backgrounds that each employee brings to our workplace. Fingerprint strives to foster an environment where our employees feel respected, valued and empowered, and our team members are at the forefront in helping us promote and sustain an inclusive workplace. We highly encourage people from underrepresented groups in tech to apply.
