IT Lead

Bespoke Labs is an applied AI research lab pioneering data and RL environment curation for training and evaluating agents.

Recently, we curated Open Thoughts, one of the best open reasoning datasets used by multiple frontier labs, trained SOTA specialized models such as Bespoke-MiniChart-7B and Bespoke-MiniCheck, and taught agents to do multi-turn tool-calling with reinforcement learning.

Bespoke is uniquely positioned to capture a large market share of data and RL environment curation.

We’re hiring our first internal IT lead to design, build, and own the company’s entire IT ecosystem from scratch. This is a high-impact, zero-to-one role responsible for corporate infrastructure, endpoint management, identity and access, security baseline, and employee IT experience. You will operate as both architect and operator—setting strategy while also executing hands-on.

• Own IAM end-to-end (SSO, RBAC, lifecycle provisioning, least-privilege)

• Stand up and run MDM for all endpoints (provisioning, hardening, patching, inventory)

• Establish security baseline (EDR, disk encryption, vuln mgmt, audits)

• Own SaaS stack (selection, provisioning, integrations, cost, renewals)

• Evolve secure networking (VPN/zero-trust, WiFi, remote access)

• Run IT support and onboarding/offboarding with strong self-service

• Drive compliance readiness (e.g., SOC 2), policies, and evidence

• Set the IT strategy and roadmap; plan and scale the IT team quickly

• 5+ years in IT/IT Ops; experience building from 0→1 in a startup

• Hands-on with IAM (Google Workspace) and MDM

• Strong security fundamentals (EDR, patching, access control, audits)

• Strategic builder with a track record of planning ahead and quickly scaling IT teams

• Pragmatic operator: balances speed, cost, and security

• Clear communicator across technical and non-technical teams

• SOC 2 experience; scripting/automation (Python/Bash); support for engineering orgs

Location: Mountain View, CA (Hybrid).
