About ALSO.

We’re ALSO, an electric mobility company originally conceived as a part of Rivian. We’re a passionate team of builders, dreamers, doers and innovators, focused on creating entirely new (not to mention, innovative and delightful) vertically integrated, small EVs designed to meet the global mobility challenges of today and tomorrow. Our mission is to inspire everyone to ride ALSO—replacing many local car, truck and SUV miles with ones on vehicles that are more affordable, more enjoyable and 10-50x more efficient.

We are seeking a hands-on IT Systems Engineering Manager to lead, build, and scale our internal IT systems team. This role will oversee security, compliance, endpoint management, and AI-driven initiatives that improve efficiency, strengthen our defenses, and modernize our technology operations.

The ideal candidate is a strategic yet technical leader who can drive enterprise level system reliability, automation, and compliance while developing a team that supports both innovation and security across the organization.

What You Will Do

Team Leadership & Strategy
  • Build the Systems Engineering function and eventually lead a growing team.

  • Set the strategic roadmap across infrastructure, security, and AI.

  • Provide technical guidance and oversight as the team scales.

Security & Compliance
  • Own company-wide security and compliance (SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST).

  • Manage identity, access, endpoint protection, and security monitoring.

  • Maintain compliance through policies, audits, and documentation.

Systems & Endpoint Management
  • Oversee endpoint configuration and monitoring (Kandji, Intune, Jamf).

  • Manage integrations across Okta, Rippling, and core SaaS systems.

  • Build automation for asset tracking, reporting, and compliance.

AI & Automation
  • Lead adoption of AI and automation to boost efficiency and security.

  • Evaluate and implement emerging technologies and predictive tools.

Operational Excellence
  • Oversee network infrastructure and office build-outs.

  • Manage vendor relationships and IT deployments.

  • Define performance metrics, uptime standards, and SLAs.

What You Will Bring

  • 7+ years of experience in IT systems or infrastructure engineering, including 3+ years in a leadership or management role.

  • Proven track record in security and compliance program ownership, including audits and framework implementation (SOC 2, ISO 27001, or similar).

  • Hands-on experience with:

    • Okta, Google Workspace, Rippling, and SaaS integrations

    • MDM/EMM platforms (Kandji, Intune, or Jamf)

    • Security and compliance tools (Vanta, Drata, CrowdStrike, etc.)

    • Automation scripting (Python, PowerShell, or equivalent)

  • Deep understanding of zero-trust architecture, identity governance, and endpoint management.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to scale a team and drive cross-functional initiatives.

The salary for this position ranges from $160,000 -$190,000 depending on experience and qualifications.

Why ALSO.

We’re passionate about helping the world find a better way to get there—wherever it is you’re headed.

We’re located in the heart of Silicon Valley and have brought together a world-class team from some of the biggest brands in the technology, automotive, cycling, outdoor recreation and retail spaces.

Together we’re working hands-on to imagine, design and build an entirely new solution to a global set of transportation challenges.

Perks and Benefits

  • Robust health coverage. Excellent health, dental and vision insurance covered up to 100% by ALSO with FSA & HSA options.

  • One Medical membership and dedicated insurance advocates.

  • Rich fertility and family building benefits with Progyny.

  • Flexible time off.
