About the Role

As an IT Systems & Network Engineer, your core responsibilities will be to build and maintain all technology infrastructure that keeps Reflect running day-to-day. This includes managing laptops and workstations, identity and access management, corporate software, networking infrastructure, and IT security. In addition to your core IT responsibilities, you will also support satellite ground network infrastructure. This includes coordinating with various internal engineering groups on network connectivity requirements and supporting ground station integrations.

This cross-functional role bridges IT networking and space systems. It is ideal for an IT professional who is excited to extend their skills into the aerospace domain through solving cross-disciplinary problems and building scalable, reliable systems.

Responsibilities

• Build, manage, and maintain Reflect Orbital’s IT and mission network infrastructure across on-premise, cloud, and ground systems

• Manage the full lifecycle of company laptops and workstations, including procurement, provisioning, configuration, maintenance, and decommissioning

• Deploy and maintain corporate software applications across the organization, including license management

• Administer identity and access management systems, including Active Directory, LDAP, and domain controllers

• Define, implement, and enforce IT security policies, including endpoint protection, vulnerability management, and access controls

• Provide technical support to employees across hardware, software, network connectivity, and access management issues

• Validate end-to-end network data paths between ground stations, cloud servers, and mission control systems

• Monitor and troubleshoot network and system health, responding to alerts and resolving issues across internal systems, ground stations, and mission networks

• Plan and coordinate maintenance windows for hardware, firmware, and software updates

• Provide on-call support for critical IT systems and mission-critical network operations

Minimum Qualifications

• Prior experience in managing complex network and IT infrastructure environments

• Strong understanding of networking protocols, routing, VPNs, and secure connectivity

• Proficiency in Windows and Linux system administration

• Proficiency in scripting and automation (Python, Bash, or PowerShell)

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS preferred)

• Understanding of IT and network security best practices, including endpoint protection, firewalls, and vulnerability management

Ideal Qualifications

• Experience managing and maintaining databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, InfluxDB, or similar)

• Familiarity with SaaS application management and integration (e.g., Google Workspace, Slack, Okta, etc)

• Knowledge of IT service management frameworks (e.g., ITIL)

• Familiarity with network monitoring tools and observability frameworks

• Experience with container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes) and CI/CD systems

• Experience with virtualization (e.g., VMware) and hybrid environments

• Knowledge of satellite ground systems — including ground station networking, antenna interfaces, and RF subsystems

• Experience working with Ground Station-as-a-Service (GSaaS) providers

Even if you don’t meet 100% of the above qualifications, we are likely still interested in hearing from you. Hiring exceptional individuals is our #1 priority, and we believe that exceptional people often have highly unusual backgrounds.

We are also interested in carving out unique roles for unconventional people that we are excited about working with.
