The Opportunity

The Junior Scheduler supports the development, maintenance, updating, and reporting of integrated project schedules for complex EPC and mission-critical projects. This position works closely with Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, Construction, Commissioning, and Project Management teams to collect accurate schedule information and maintain visibility into project progress.

The role is intended to develop strong fundamentals in Primavera P6, Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling, project controls, and overall project execution while working under the guidance of experienced Scheduling and Project Controls professionals.

What you will do?

  • Assist with the development and maintenance of integrated project schedules using Primavera P6.
  • Perform weekly schedule updates, including actual starts, actual finishes, remaining durations, and progress.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, Construction, Commissioning, and Project Management teams to collect schedule status and forecast information.
  • Support the integration of stakeholder schedules and commitments into the overall project schedule.
  • Maintain accurate activity descriptions, durations, relationships, calendars, activity codes, milestones, and other schedule information.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining schedule logic that accurately represents the project's execution plan.
  • Support the development of short-term and intermediate look-ahead schedules.
  • Track key contractual, engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction, energization, commissioning, and client milestones.
  • Assist with identifying critical and near-critical activities that could impact project completion.
  • Perform basic schedule quality checks, including identifying missing logic, open-ended activities, excessive constraints, outdated activities, and other schedule concerns.
  • Assist with schedule reporting, dashboards, milestone reports, progress reports, and schedule narratives.
  • Compare current schedule performance against baseline and previous reporting periods.
  • Document schedule changes, assumptions, commitments, and stakeholder inputs.
  • Participate in schedule review meetings and stakeholder coordination sessions.
  • Escalate schedule discrepancies, missing information, potential delays, and conflicting stakeholder commitments to the appropriate Scheduler or Project Controls leadership.
  • Maintain organized and accurate schedule documentation in accordance with company standards.
  • Develop an understanding of EPC project sequencing from design through procurement, manufacturing, construction, energization, commissioning, and turnover.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Project Management, or related field preferred.
  • 0–3 years of scheduling, project controls, construction, engineering, or related project experience.
  • Experience with Primavera P6 preferred but not required.
  • Basic understanding of project scheduling, construction sequencing, or Critical Path Method (CPM) principles preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with multiple project stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
