Create motion graphics, social-first video edits, reusable animation templates, and campaign assets for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, documentaries, and advocacy campaigns. Adapt content across formats, incorporate captions, sound, transitions, and graphics, follow emerging creative trends, maintain organized project files, and contribute ideas while collaborating with senior creatives in a remote nonprofit team.
This is a remote position.
About Project Slingshot
Project Slingshot is a global nonprofit working to end factory farming. We do this by exposing the lies, cruelty and power of Big Ag through disruptive campaigns that cut through the noise, capture public attention and build unstoppable momentum for change.
Our work ranges from daily social content and celebrity partnerships to documentaries, outdoor advertising, websites, fundraising materials and larger global campaigns.
We're looking for someone who loves making things look and feel great, enjoys emerging creative trends, and wants to help create work that people actually stop scrolling for.
The Role
As our Junior Motion Designer you'll help make our work impossible to scroll past. You'll create the motion graphics and social-first edits that carry our campaigns across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and beyond - and in doing so, free up our senior creatives to focus on larger campaigns, films and creative development.
Most of your week will be spent animating, editing and adapting content for social. You'll also have opportunities to contribute to bigger projects, including documentaries, celebrity campaigns, outdoor advertising, websites, reports and global advocacy campaigns.
Because we're a small team, you'll work closely with our Chief Creative Officer, senior designer and editors, gaining exposure to a broad range of creative disciplines and helping shape work that reaches audiences all over the world.
This is an opportunity for someone who wants to grow fast, learn alongside experienced creatives, and bring fresh perspectives and ideas of their own. We care far more about what you've made than how long you've been making it.
What You'll Do
Create motion graphics
- Animate typography, graphics and brand assets for campaign and social content.
- Build simple, reusable templates for recurring content.
- Support larger campaign films with additional motion design where needed.
- Develop animations that feel polished, considered and on-brand.
- Keep project files tidy, organised and easy for the wider team to pick up.
Edit engaging social content
- Create social-first edits for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and other platforms.
- Add captions, sound design, transitions and graphics.
- Adapt existing content into multiple formats and aspect ratios.
- Produce fast-turnaround content without compromising on craft.
- Help maintain a consistently high standard across all published content.
Stay connected to culture
- Bring references, trends and ideas into the team.
- Keep an eye on emerging creators, editing styles, formats and platform behaviours.
- Help ensure our work feels contemporary, culturally relevant and creatively ambitious.
- Suggest approaches that feel unexpected or different from traditional advocacy communications.
Support bigger projects
- Assist with documentaries, campaign films and experimental creative projects.
- Work alongside experienced creatives and gradually take ownership of more ambitious work.
- Contribute ideas and creative thinking, not just execution.
- Take feedback well, act on it quickly, and use it to raise your craft.
Requirements
We'd love someone who:
- Has a showreel or portfolio of motion and social-first video work they're proud of - from a placement, internship, freelance work, a studio, an agency, an in-house team or their own projects.
- Is comfortable using Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro.
- Has a strong eye for graphic design, typography, composition and pacing.
- Understands how motion graphics, sound design, music and voiceover can elevate a piece of content.
- Enjoys experimenting with new tools and workflows.
- Is curious about emerging creative technologies such as ElevenLabs, Runway and Midjourney.
- Is proactive, organised and happy sharing ideas in a small, fast-moving team.
- Pays close attention to trends and to what audiences are actually responding to right now.
- Is excited to join our mission to end factory farming.
Success looks like
- You are producing social-first edits and motion assets independently, to a consistently high standard.
- A set of reusable motion templates exists and is speeding up our recurring content.
- Senior creatives are spending more time on major campaigns and films because day-to-day output sits with you.
- You are bringing references, trends and ideas to the team, not only executing briefs.
