Join MAPEI Corporation, a global leader in the manufacturing of construction chemicals and building materials, including adhesives, sealants, and specialty products used in flooring, tile, and concrete restoration. MAPEI is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Key Account Manager – National Distributors to develop and grow our Construction & Restoration Systems (CRS) business through assigned national distribution accounts across the United States. This role will develop and execute sales strategies, build relationships with corporate, regional, and local decision-makers, and collaborate with MAPEI’s sales and product teams to increase product penetration, develop new business, and drive sales growth throughout national distributor networks.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute sales strategies for assigned national distributors, translating national initiatives into measurable growth across regions and branches.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate, regional, and local distributor management and key decision-makers.
  • Collaborate with MAPEI Regional Sales Managers, Business Development Leaders, Product Line Managers, and CRS Specialists to identify and develop sales opportunities throughout the United States.
  • Analyze performance by distributor, region, branch, and product category and develop action plans to improve underperforming areas.
  • Identify new business opportunities involving contractors, projects, and customers throughout distributor networks.
  • Coordinate sales programs, product launches, promotions, training, demonstrations, and other growth initiatives.
  • Partner with Product Line Managers to support appropriate product offerings, positioning, and pricing for assigned accounts.
  • Conduct business reviews, monitor competitive activity, and represent MAPEI at distributor meetings, sales events, and trade shows.
  • Perform assigned tasks in conformance with procedures and instructions established in the Business Management System (BMS) and in compliance with applicable Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulatory requirements.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • In addition to the base salary, this role is eligible for a sales incentive plan, your incentive pay is calculated as a variable percentage based on your budget-to-actual net sales attainment and paid on a monthly basis, with no cap on earnings potential, providing unlimited opportunities for additional earnings based on performance.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of seven years of sales, business development, or key account management experience in construction materials or a related industry.
  • Proven sales experience working with national construction distributors.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials and national distribution channels.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop sales strategies and grow key accounts.
  • Strong relationship-building, negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Proficient with Windows-based PCs, including Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, as well as CRM software and internet navigation.
  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel extensively throughout the United States.
