About Noon

We are on a mission to reinvent how designers work in the AI era. We’re backed by top investors including First Round, Chemistry, Homebrew, Scribble and senior leaders from OpenAI, Meta, Google, Ramp, Stripe and more. We’re building the next-generation AI design tool for product teams.

About the Role

We’re hiring an Lead AI Engineer to own and scale our AI infrastructure and product capabilities. You’ll build and ship production-grade, LLM-powered features, define technical direction for AI systems, and turn research into reliable, measurable product impact.

This is a hands-on role at the intersection of research, model training, and product—you’ll design the pipelines, evaluate tradeoffs, and lead execution end to end.

What You’ll Do
  • Own the training-to-inference pipeline for large code models—optimize inference with quantization, distillation, and caching techniques.

  • Research, design, and fine-tune domain-specific LLMs for code generation, refactoring, debugging, and multi-turn reasoning.

  • Design and optimize AI pipelines (prompting, retrieval, agents, evaluation)

  • Lead work on agentic systems and multi-step tool calling

  • Establish standards for model evaluation, benchmarking, and observability

  • Partner closely with product, design, and engineering to ship AI features users rely on

Must-Have Requirements
  • 5+ years software engineering experience

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience designing, training, tuning and deploying machine-learning models.

  • Practical experience with Natural Language Processing (NLP) and LLMs

  • Experience with data acquisition, data cleaning, and data pipelines

  • Knowledge of model optimizations (quantization, distillation, LoRA, pruning).

  • Experience building agentic AI systems

  • Ability to own systems end-to-end

What You’ll Build
  • Fine-tuned models for design-to-code generation

  • Custom SLMs for specific design workflows

  • A multi-step AI agent system with tool use

  • Real-time, streaming AI experiences

  • Context-aware code generation and suggestions

Benefits
  • Salary: $300,000-$400,000 base salary

  • Equity: Meaningful stock options

  • Health Insurance: Best-in-class coverage for the employee and their entire family

  • Location: San Francisco HQ
