The role & its impact:

As a Lead Data Analyst, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality marketing science and analytics frameworks that enable fast decision-making. You will play an integral role in supporting insights by leading the requirements capture, data collection, and analysis required to empower Xero to deliver successful digital and customer outcomes.


By extracting actionable insights from various platforms, you will help shape customer behaviour and our marketing strategy, ensuring our efforts in acquisition, retention, and personalisation are backed by robust, data-driven evidence.

This team & how they connect:

Reporting to our Advanced Analytics Manager, you will join an AU based team who work closely with teams like Customer Engagement to understand current trends and the customer landscape, ensuring our global community is supported by big-business technology.

Initially, you will focus on:

  • Performing deep-dive analysis and marketing experiment analysis to shift the thinking and prioritisation of partner teams.

  • Designing and analysing A/B tests and experiments to proactively manage digital performance and customer engagement.

  • Developing data assets and productionised models to be used in reporting and strategic decision-making.

  • Feeding back data quality issues to engineering teams to improve instrumentation and coverage.

This is an 11-month contract role providing parental leave cover. We offer a hybrid working model that balances remote flexibility with purposeful "boost days" in the office to collaborate and connect with your peers.

Here are some of the things we are looking for:

  • You bring advanced SQL skills and have experience working with complex, large-scale data platforms.

  • Your background includes a strong understanding of experimentation frameworks and A/B testing analysis.

  • You possess the ability to translate messy data into clear, compelling stories and visualisations for non-technical stakeholders.

  • You are proficient in using tools like Python, Google Analytics, or Big Query to extract and manipulate data.
