Position Summary
We are seeking a Lead Director, Portfolio Strategy & Commercial Enablement to provide strategic leadership and operational direction for the portfolio strategy, roadmap, and commercialization of CVS Health’s next generation pharma data and analytics products, services, and platform capabilities. In this role, you will define, operationalize, and direct portfolio strategy and execution by establishing a unified and integrated roadmap, governance model, and commercial enablement approach that aligns enterprise priorities, emerging technologies, and founding pharma partner requirements. You will operate above and across individual delivery teams to ensure coordinated execution and prioritization across a highly matrixed organization. This position requires strong strategic judgment, execution rigor, and the ability to influence and align senior stakeholders. You will work across business units and functional partners to translate strategy into action, drive cross-Trade enterprise stewardship, enable commercialization efforts, manage portfolio level tradeoffs, and enable measurable business and revenue outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
• Define and operationalize a unified and integrated portfolio strategy and multi year roadmap for CVS Health’s pharma data and analytics products, services, and platform capabilities.
• Establish and manage portfolio governance frameworks that ensure coordinated development, prioritization, and strategic alignment across multiple organizational verticals.
• Serve as the enterprise ambassador for the analytics portfolio, leading regular cross Trade and enterprise syncs with partner business units (e.g., Specialty, Retail, Aetna, Legal, Marketing) to drive alignment and execution.
• Translate portfolio strategy into a holistic portfolio execution roadmap, including milestones, dependencies, progress review cadence, and executive level status reporting.
• Advise executive leadership on portfolio tradeoffs, sequencing decisions, and investment priorities, incorporating market trends, customer needs, and emerging technologies (e.g., Agents, NLP).
• Own portfolio level commercialization strategy and revenue enablement, ensuring cohesive positioning and alignment with broader enterprise offerings and revenue objectives.
• Develop and maintain a differentiated and cohesive portfolio narrative and modular collateral library to support go to market efforts, pilot launches, partner engagements, and external communication.
• Partner with internal teams and external stakeholders to identify, evaluate, and advance strategic pharma and emerging technology partnerships that expand market reach and long term value.
• Monitor portfolio performance, market signals, and commercialization effectiveness, using insights to refine strategy, optimize execution, and drive continuous improvement.
• Advocate for the data and analytics portfolio internally and externally through executive forums, partner discussions, industry events, and thought leadership engagements.
Required Qualifications
• 10+ years of experience in portfolio strategy, commercialization, analytics, product strategy, consulting, or related enterprise roles
• Demonstrated ability to plan, direct, and deliver complex initiatives across highly matrixed organizations
• Strong business and analytics acumen, with comfort applying data insights solutions, products, and services to strategic decision making
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and align diverse teams without direct authority
• Excellent presentation skills with ability to communicate complex concepts through visuals and executive level messaging
• Demonstrated growth mindset, including adaptability and the ability to develop self and others
• Excellent strategic thinking, problem solving, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working in enterprise strategy, data product commercialization, and analytics platforms
• Background in pharmaceutical and large scale enterprise environments
• Experience supporting revenue enablement, go to market strategy, or portfolio level market positioning
Education
• Bachelor’s degree required in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Strategy, Analytics, Marketing)
• Advanced degree (MBA, MS, MFA) preferred

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$144,200.00 - $288,400.00


This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
