Location Requirement

We believe the best ideas happen together. To support fast collaboration and a strong team culture, this role is expected to be in our Palo Alto office five days a week, unless otherwise specified.

As a Lead Frontend Engineer at Hippocratic AI, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of AI-powered healthcare voice agents through the development of our Generative AI SaaS products. You will lead the frontend vision and execution across our web and mobile surfaces, creating intelligent, intuitive, and accessible user experiences that power safe, scalable, and transformative healthcare interactions.

This is a highly collaborative role where you will partner closely with AI researchers, product managers, designers, and healthcare professionals to translate complex clinical and technical requirements into elegant, performant UI systems. From designing rich dashboards to optimizing real-time interactions and building components that scale across product lines, your work will directly influence how patients and providers engage with next-generation AI in both clinical and consumer settings.

We are looking for an exceptional frontend engineering leader who obsesses over quality, thrives in fast-moving environments, and is passionate about crafting user-centric experiences for high-stakes healthcare applications.

• Lead the architecture, development, and delivery of modern B2B SaaS frontends using TypeScript, React, and Material UI.

• Build scalable component systems, design frameworks, and frontend infrastructure that enable rapid product iteration.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, research, and clinical teams to translate requirements into seamless, user-focused interfaces.

• Integrate with backend and AI systems through well-structured API contracts and real-time data flows.

• Drive code quality, performance, accessibility, and best practices across the frontend organization.

• Mentor engineers, shape engineering standards, and influence overall product and UI strategy.

• Stay current with emerging frontend technologies, AI-driven workflows, and design trends to enhance product capability and developer velocity.

Must-Have:

• 5+ years of frontend engineering experience with deep expertise in TypeScript, React, and modern UI frameworks.

• Proven ability to architect scalable frontend systems and deliver high-quality, production-grade code.

• Strong understanding of design systems, component libraries, state management, and frontend performance.

• Experience integrating with RESTful APIs and collaborating effectively with backend and platform teams.

• Excellent communication, product thinking, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

• Familiarity with agile development practices and modern frontend DevOps/CI tooling.

Nice-to-Have:

• Experience developing and publishing cross-platform mobile apps using Flutter, React Native, or native iOS/Android SDKs.

• Hands-on experience building LLM-powered applications or integrating generative AI into production systems.

• Familiarity with backend systems (Python/Flask, Node.js, or similar) and cloud infrastructure workflows (Terraform, AWS).
