Skydio is the leading US drone company and the world leader in autonomous flight, the key technology for the future of drones and aerial mobility. The Skydio team combines deep expertise in artificial intelligence, best-in-class hardware and software product development, operational excellence, and customer obsession to empower a broader, more diverse audience of drone users, from utility inspectors to first responders, soldiers in battlefield scenarios, and beyond.

About The Role

We're looking for a Lead GTM Platform Engineer / Architect to lead the design and development of the Skydio GTM platform.

This is a hands-on engineering leadership role. We believe the best architects are builders, people who can design elegant systems, write production-quality code, prototype quickly, and mentor other engineers through technical leadership.

You'll work directly with executive leadership, product teams, and business stakeholders to solve some of the company's most complex operational challenges. You'll combine software engineering, data architecture, AI, and product thinking to build applications that fundamentally change how our Go-to-Market organization operates.

You'll own the technical vision while remaining deeply involved in implementation, helping shape both the architecture and the code that powers our platform.

(This role will hire and manage two entry-level AI Engineers)
What You'll Build

You will architect and build products across areas including:
  • Sales Planning

  • Territory & Capacity Planning

  • Sales Forecasting

  • Deal Operations

  • Fulfillment Planning

  • Customer Success/Support Operations

  • AI-powered GTM assistants

  • Slack-native workflows and automation

  • Internal AI agents that automate business processes

Responsibilities

Platform Architecture
  • Own the technical architecture for Skydio's GTM platform.

  • Design scalable business applications built on Palantir Foundry.

  • Build and evolve a unified business ontology that serves as the foundation for commercial operations.

  • Define engineering standards, architecture principles, and platform governance.

Software Engineering
  • Write production-quality Python, SQL, and TypeScript code.

  • Design and build scalable APIs, services, and integrations.

  • Build AI-powered applications and autonomous workflows using modern LLM technologies.

  • Develop reusable platform components that accelerate future application development.

  • Review code, mentor engineers, and establish engineering best practices.

  • Prototype new ideas rapidly while ensuring production-grade quality.

Data & AI
  • Design scalable data models and semantic business objects.

  • Build reliable ELT/ETL pipelines and event-driven data workflows.

  • Develop AI copilots, intelligent assistants, and agentic workflows.

  • Apply Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), vector search, and modern AI architectures where they create measurable business value.

Business Partnership
  • Partner directly with executives across Sales, Finance, Customer Success, Support, Product, and Operations.

  • Translate complex business challenges into scalable software products.

  • Drive adoption of AI and automation across the GTM organization.

  • Prioritize work based on measurable business impact.

Technical Qualifications

Required
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience building enterprise applications or platform products.

  • Expert-level proficiency in Python and SQL.

  • Strong experience with TypeScript or another modern programming language.

  • Experience building production-grade software using modern software engineering practices.

  • Strong computer science fundamentals including distributed systems, APIs, object-oriented design, concurrency, and system design.

  • Experience designing REST APIs and integrating enterprise SaaS platforms.

  • Experience designing scalable data models and business ontologies.

  • Experience with Git, CI/CD, automated testing, and production deployment pipelines.

  • Experience building cloud-native applications on AWS, Azure, or GCP.

  • Strong understanding of software architecture, observability, reliability, and security.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work directly with executives and cross-functional partners.

Preferred

Experience with several of the following:

  • Palantir Foundry

  • Palantir AIP

  • PySpark / Apache Spark

  • Databricks

  • Salesforce Platform & APIs

  • Slack APIs

  • OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, or other LLM platforms

  • MCP, RAG, vector databases, LangGraph, LangChain, or similar AI frameworks

  • Experience building platforms supporting Revenue Operations, Sales, Customer Success, Finance, Supply Chain, or Operations is highly desirable.

What Makes You Successful

You're likely a great fit if you:
  • Love building products not just designing architectures.

  • Are equally comfortable whiteboarding a distributed system and writing production code.

  • Thrive in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.

  • Think like an owner and challenge existing processes.

  • Care deeply about developer experience, software quality, and platform scalability.

  • Have a passion for applying AI to solve meaningful business problems.

  • Enjoy mentoring engineers and raising the technical bar for the entire organization.

  • Obtaining FAA Part 107 certification within the first 60 days of employment is strongly encouraged for all Skydio employees and required for certain positions.
