Job Description

We are looking for a Lead Network Convergence Architect to act as the chief technical authority for a large-scale network consolidation program at a US-based Tier-2 Telco. The role is responsible for designing the target-state architecture and resolving highly complex routing collisions. It defines master architectural templates leveraged by automation and serves as the ultimate escalation point for critical technical edge cases. This position suits professionals experienced in untangling undocumented legacy networks and architecting large-scale, reliable BGP/OSPF convergence strategies.

Responsibilities:

  • Take full ownership of High-Level and Low-Level Design (HLD/LLD) for network infrastructure, defining and documenting target-state architecture across WAN and SD-WAN, routing and switching standards, Data Center Interconnect (DCI), and hybrid connectivity across on-premise data centers and AWS Cloud
  • Design the target-state architecture by developing standardized LLD routing and switching templates used by the ETL data pipeline for automated configuration generation
  • Design the Transition State Machine (TSM), including interim routing steps and temporary logical overlays required for seamless migration of legacy sites with zero packet loss
  • Act as the senior escalation point during large-scale rollouts, resolving complex issues from undocumented legacy configurations by engineering transition solutions aligned with the defined Golden Standard, and securing Architecture Review Board approval for any necessary deviations
  • Analyze failed site cutovers within the rollback feedback loop. Identify root causes, engineer corrective solutions, and collaborate with the ETL/Automation team to ensure permanent fixes are embedded into Jinja2-based automation scripts
  • Provide technical direction for lab validation activities conducted by Infrastructure Analysts within AWS/EVE-NG simulation environments
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to technical and executive stakeholders, applying a consultative approach to challenge legacy decisions, reduce technical debt, defend the target architecture, and translate engineering trade-offs into clear business value (ROI, OPEX reduction, risk mitigation)
  • Drive architecture governance as the primary technical authority in Architecture Review Board (ARB) sessions, securing design approvals, resolving cross-domain conflicts, and guiding domain architects in preparation and quality assurance of all ARB submissions

Qualifications

  • 12+ years of expert-level experience in service provider or large enterprise network architecture, with CCIE (Routing & Switching / Service Provider) or equivalent expertise
  • Deep expertise in complex routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, IS-IS), including route leaking, VRF segmentation, and SD-WAN overlay/underlay integration
  • Experience in network engineering and traffic management across global service providers, including GTT, Cogent, and Lumen
  • Deep experience in engineering enterprise colocation environments and executing physical data center consolidations, with a primary focus on Digital Realty architectures (experience migrating workloads out of legacy Equinix or CoreSite environments is highly preferred)
  • Expertise in cloud connectivity and Network-as-a-Service (NaaS) platforms, explicitly driving Digital Realty ServiceFabric integrations (including a strict understanding of Layer 2 vs. Layer 3 virtual routing constraints), alongside Megaport or PacketFabric
  • Proven experience leading technical architecture for large-scale M&A network consolidations, including resolving overlapping IP spaces (strong NAT/PAT expertise)
  • Strong understanding of scalable, template-driven network design enabling automated deployments

Additional Information

We offer:

  • Culture of Relentless Performance: join an unstoppable technology development team with a 99% project success rate and more than 30% year-over-year revenue growth.
