As the Lead Product Designer – Renewal, you will shape the plan renewal experience that is critical for both our members and Humana’s success. A seamless renewal journey helps members maintain their coverage with ease, reduces confusion, and supports confident decision making and their ongoing well-being. For Humana, effective renewal experience drives member retention, improves STARs ratings, and lowers operational costs. Your design craft and thought leadership will directly influence these key outcomes. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Define and lead the end-to-end design strategy for Humana’s member renewal experience, ensuring a human-centered approach that aligns with business goals

  • Collaborate with product, engineering, marketing, and analytics teams to develop and implement innovative solutions to simplify and enhance the renewal process

  • Champion user research and data-driven insights to inform design decisions and measure impact

  • Advocate for accessibility, inclusivity, and best practices in design across all renewal touchpoints

  • Partner with the Plan Shopping team to ensure seamless and consistent user experience across the member journey

  • Present design concepts and strategies to senior leadership and stakeholders, effectively communicating rationale and value

  • Foster a culture of collaboration, experimentation, and continuous improvement within the design team

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or related fields, or equivalent experience

  • 7 years of experience in product design, with a portfolio showcasing impactful digital solutions

  • 3 years of coaching and mentoring designers on the team

  • Portfolio demonstrating experience designing complex user journeys, preferably in healthcare, insurance, or related industries 

  • Deep expertise in user-centered design processes, interaction design, visual design, and service design 

  • Strong proficiency in design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe CC)

  • Familiarity with user research methodologies and translating insights into actionable design solutions

  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills 

  • Ability to balance strategic vision with hands-on making and design mentorship

  • Strong business acumen, with demonstrated ability to connect design deliverables to measurable business outcomes, such as improved conversion rates, customer satisfaction, or lower operational cost. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in healthcare or other regulated industries

  • Experience creating inclusive and accessible designs, particularly for senior adults 

  • Well-organized and capable of handling multiple priorities effectively

  • Contributions to design systems or pattern libraries

Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


 

$104,000 - $143,000 per year


 

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
