Lead Product Designer

Our vision is a world where every patient feels cared for and every doctor has the capacity to care. Our mission is to end the second shift.

For most doctors in Latin America, the workday doesn't end when the last patient leaves. A second shift starts on WhatsApp: patient messages, rescheduling, follow-ups and payments, often late into the night. Leona takes that shift off their hands. Our AI assistant reads and answers patient WhatsApp threads, books appointments, and is expanding into billing and payments for medical practices. Today, doctors across 28 specialties in 14 countries use Leona to manage relationships with their patients.

We're building toward a future where patients feel cared for between visits, not just during them, and where doctors get their evenings back, while increasing their earnings.

With bases in San Francisco and Mexico City, our team brings together years of experience scaling companies like Uber, Rappi, and Modern Fertility across the US and Latin America. Location: San Francisco or Mexico City, but we can be flexible for the right candidate

We seek an experienced product designer to lead the design of a new tool aimed at giving doctors superpowers. If you’re driven by user experience, enjoy the challenge of solving complex design problems with easy-to-use solutions, and are looking to play a critical role in taking a product from 0 to 1, this role is for you.

In this role, you will:

• Lead the design of high-end, impactful product experiences for Leona’s digital products

• Spend time getting to know our target users and develop empathy for their unique needs

• Collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders

• Be a key decision-maker on a small but talented team

• Help us make Leona a company that stands out for its design excellence

• Has a proven track record of designing mobile-first digital products, with at least 7 years of relevant work experience 

• Spanish & English language fluency

• Specific experience designing for native mobile apps (iOS or Android), with extensive knowledge of common design patterns + guidelines. Has experience designing user experiences for complex native mobile applications, and has extensive knowledge of common design patterns + guidelines

• Mastery of the various tools needed for each step of the design process

• Feels comfortable taking ideas from wireframes to pixel-perfect deliverables, and is excited about defining and owning this process

• Experience working closely with engineers

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• A passion for building

• Dedication: If you prefer 9-5 environments, this role is not for you. While there is no strict ‘clocking in/clocking out’ schedule, the aggressive growth goals require the team to work more than 8 hours a day
