As a Lead Product Designer, you will help shape exceptional user-centric mobile and web applications across multiple platforms, contributing both design execution and system-level thinking. Working closely with our product team, you will work to understand business requirements and apply your knowledge of design principles to propose UI/UX design solutions. You will also work with the development team members to assess feasibility and coordinate the design and implementation of solutions.

What You Will Do

  • Act as the owner and champion of user experience at BlackCloak.
  • Mature and grow the design function as a critical component of the software development life cycle.
  • Lead the design team and coordinate work across a combination of contractors and full-time employees.
  • Design and deliver wireframes, user flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups for cybersecurity applications and tools tailored for technical and non-technical users.
  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and security experts to create interfaces that simplify complex cybersecurity concepts while maintaining user trust.
  • Design for three distinct applications (mobile app, client portal, internal admin tool), supporting cross-platform UX strategy and system alignment.
  • Translate technical and security requirements into intuitive, user-friendly designs that prioritize privacy and protection.
  • Take a lead role in building out our new tokenized design system.
  • Help define and evolve our multi-platform design architecture.
  • Support a cohesive component library for consistency and implementation speed.
  • Stay informed about the latest trends in cybersecurity, UX design, and accessibility standards to deliver innovative solutions.
  • Work with the product team and customers to understand business requirements and processes in relation to contextual user behavior for superior design proposals.
  • Work closely with the development team to gauge the feasibility of proposed designs and ensure support of business requirements while conforming to proposed Design Standards.
  • Help build and refine our internal design process, including design reviews, documentation standards, and collaborative workflows with product and engineering.
  • Present design concepts to cross-functional teams and stakeholders, and incorporate feedback in fast-paced design-build cycles.
  • Conduct user research and usability testing to understand the unique needs of high-stakes users and incorporate feedback into designs.

What You Will Need to be Successful

  • A bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in UI/UX design, preferably in cybersecurity, SaaS, or enterprise solutions.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar. Figma is strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles, accessibility standards, and responsive design.
  • Experience conducting user research and usability testing with sensitive or high-stakes user groups.
  • Familiarity with designing for secure and privacy-focused applications.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present design decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and a creative approach to problem-solving.
