What’s the role?

The Lead Qualification Manager at ZEISS plays a critical role in shaping the first impression for prospective customers exploring the company’s advanced technology solutions. This position is responsible for engaging inbound leads, conducting needs‑based discoveries, and qualifying opportunities to ensure a smooth and effective transition to the Sales organization. This role contributes directly to building a strong, healthy opportunity pipeline and supports ongoing growth across the business. Located in Dublin, California, this position sits at the center of the lead‑management ecosystem, handling incoming inquiries, identifying customer challenges, and connecting prospects with the appropriate Sales Account Executives to drive meaningful engagement. The Lead Qualification Manager also partners closely with Strategic Marketing, Events, and Digital Platform teams to ensure high‑quality lead capture, timely follow‑up, and efficient workflow execution across the organization.

Here’s what you’ll do:

  • Manage, assess, and qualify inbound customer inquiries, ensuring they are routed promptly to the appropriate sales, service, or marketing teams.

  • Conduct discovery conversations to understand customers’ specialties, interests, and potential alignment with ZEISS solutions.

  • Triage and validate incoming requests, ensuring all required data is accurately captured for efficient processing.

  • Collaborate closely with Sales and Marketing teams to maintain timely follow‑ups, smooth handoffs, and strong cross‑functional alignment.

  • Maintain accurate lead records and qualification notes in Salesforce, ensuring data quality and visibility across teams.

  • Support marketing initiatives, including event follow‑up and lead‑nurturing activities.

  • Partner with strategic marketing, events teams, and digital platform managers to ensure lead capture and routing workflows operate effectively within the digital ecosystem.

  • Identify and document workflow or technical issues in Salesforce, escalating disruptions quickly to ensure rapid resolution.

Do you qualify?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, Business, or a related field or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience in similar roles required.

  • Demonstrated experience in a customer‑facing or lead‑qualification environment, with a strong focus on responsiveness and high‑quality interactions.

  • Proficiency with CRM systems, preferably Salesforce, along with strong computer skills and fluency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Strong project and time‑management skills with the ability to navigate complex processes. Experience collaborating with international colleagues is a plus.

  • Proven problem‑solving ability, exercising sound judgment and offering well‑reasoned recommendations when resolving issues.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with individuals across diverse roles, backgrounds, and levels of the organization.

  • Highly developed organizational skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.

  • Ability to work independently, take initiative in decision‑making, and maintain accountability for individual responsibilities while contributing effectively to cross‑functional teams.

  • Strong time‑management skills with the capacity to handle multiple inbound requests simultaneously and maintain service quality.

  • Comfortable working cross‑functionally while meeting performance quotas and contributing to successful business outcomes.

  • Ability to work onsite in Dublin, CA at least three days per week.

The annual pay range for this position is $84,000 - $105,000.

The pay offered for this role may be influenced by factors such as job location, scope of role, qualifications, education, experience, & complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent.
  
This position is eligible for a Performance Bonus.
