C3 AI is seeking a Lead Full-Stack Software Engineer to provide technical leadership on our Platform UI team. This role is ideal for engineers who operate at the intersection of architecture, developer experience, and large-scale UI systems, and who are motivated to shape the future of enterprise AI application development.

In this role, you will define the technical direction and architectural foundation of the UI framework and component ecosystem that underpins the C3 Platform. Your work will directly influence how hundreds of engineers—and our customers—build, scale, and operate mission-critical AI applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and drive the long-term technical vision and architecture of the Platform UI framework and component library.
  • Lead the design of highly scalable and extensible systems spanning application development, bundling, runtime performance, accessibility, localization (i18n), observability, and extensibility.
  • Make architectural decisions that balance performance, flexibility, developer productivity, and enterprise-grade requirements.
  • Serve as a technical authority and advisor across teams, influencing UI, platform, and application architecture company wide.
  • Partner closely with Product, Design, Infrastructure, and Application Engineering teams to align technical solutions with user and business needs.
  • Lead complex, cross-team initiatives spanning UI frameworks, backend services, and third-party integrations.
  • Establish and evolve best practices and standards for framework design, component APIs, testing strategy, performance optimization, and release quality.
  • Mentor senior engineers, raise the technical bar across the organization, and help grow future technical leaders.
  • Proactively identify technical debt, scalability challenges, and systemic risks, driving solutions before they become blockers.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8+ years of experience delivering complex, production-grade applications at scale, with a strong front-end and platform focus.
  • Proven ability to operate as a senior technical leader, delivering high-impact outcomes across multiple teams and products without formal people-management responsibilities.
  • Deep expertise in front-end architecture, including JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Angular, or similar frameworks, along with modern build systems and UI performance optimization.
  • Strong experience designing and building APIs (REST, GraphQL, gRPC), with a solid understanding of integration patterns and interoperability.
  • Experience with enterprise platforms, low-code systems, or developer tooling.
  • Strong understanding of application state management, data visualization, accessibility standards, and internationalization.
  • Experience effectively using AI-powered coding assistants in day-to-day development, including authoring high-quality instructions, prompts, and guidelines to improve code quality, productivity, and consistency across teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through influence, communicate clearly, and drive alignment across engineering and product stakeholders.
  • Track record of owning ambiguous, high-impact technical problems end-to-end.
  • Cloud experience building and deploying systems in Google Cloud, AWS, or Azure, including cloud-native services and infrastructure-as-code patterns.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven experience designing and maintaining large-scale UI frameworks or design systems used by multiple teams.
  • Familiarity with distributed systems, backend-for-frontend patterns, and observability/telemetry.
  • Demonstrated success setting technical strategy and delivering durable, long-lived platform solutions.
  • Passion for improving developer experience and building frameworks that scale both technically and organizationally.
