THE POSITION

As a Strategic Sourcing Specialist at Honeywell, you will play a crucial role in driving the procurement of materials and services in alignment with business guidelines. You will be responsible for establishing and executing procurement strategies to achieve the lowest total cost, reduce working capital, and ensure supply continuity.


Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 


  • Develop and execute a global Machining sourcing strategy for your commodity group, to realize a challenging Annual Operating Plan and Strategic Annual Plan.
  • Build, maintain, and own relationships with owner and executive level of our highly competitive and consolidated supply base partners.
  • Teach, mentor, and develop future leaders in strategic sourcing worldwide.
  • Report directly to the Sr. Director, Strategic Sourcing for the Electronic Hybrid Category with an annual spend of ~$1.0B Annually.  

Qualifications

U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENT

Due to compliance with US export control laws, candidate must be U.S. person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum/refugee status. 


YOU MUST HAVE

  • 5+ years’ experience in Subcontracts, Procurement and/or Supplier Management
  • Due to export control regulations, this position requires US citizenship status

WE VALUE:

  • Bachelor's Degree BS or BA, in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Contract Administration, or Engineering Discipline
  • Graduate Degrees in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Contract Administration, or Engineering Discipline
  • Experience leading and closing formal negotiations (price, schedule, payment terms, supplier exceptions to contractual flow down requirements, and standard Terms and Conditions).  
  • Experience developing, communicating, and executing an end-to-end global supply chain sourcing strategy for a large complex supplier or a Electronic Hybrid category, by assessing global market conditions, current state and desired future state, business objectives, supplier capabilities, and emerging technologies, and then develop strategic priorities to close any gaps.
  • Experience managing supplier performance throughout the subcontracting lifecycle from new product development to production, and closeout phases
  • Deep Engineering and Technical Product Expertise in the design and redesign of Machining parts including: Housings, Gears, Shafts, Diffusers and in some cases complex assemblies.
  • Proven ability to proactively address obsolescence through redesign or alternate sourcing strategies with minimal disruption and experience mitigating design and qualification costs at the product level by leveraging form-fit-function equivalency or through strategic change control.
  • Demonstrated success repositioning or transitioning build-to-print (BTP) components or subassemblies to new suppliers while preserving performance and compliance requirements.
  • Understanding of IP constraints, technical data packages (TDPs), and build-to-print vs. build-to-spec nuances.
  • Ability to assess and negotiate technical ownership, data rights, and tooling obligations with suppliers.
  • Familiarity with intellectual property law, especially in relation to aerospace electronics and supplier ownership of design.
  • Skilled in contract interpretation and able to secure, identify and preserve Honeywell’s rights to technical data and production continuity.
  • Strong supplier relationship management (SRM) capabilities, including past experience developing long-term strategic partnerships and managing performance.
  • Experience with category strategy development, segmentation, and supplier capability classification.
  • Ability to define and implement supply base strategies aligned with business needs and technology roadmaps.
  • Proficient in conducting market intelligence research, cost benchmarking, and technology trend analysis for electronic hybrid categories.
  • Skilled at synthesizing large datasets into visual, actionable insights to inform sourcing strategies and executive decision-making.
  • Strong project management skills with PMP certification preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional projects involving engineering, legal, quality, and supply chain teams from concept to execution.
