Perena

We believe that stablecoins are more than a payment tool — they’re a better form of banking. Perena is building the Stablebank Network: an ecosystem that connects stablecoin infrastructure, liquidity rails, yield strategies, and payments into one protocol.

We launched and scaled Numéraire, the largest stableswap on Solana with over $2B in cumulative volume. Today we're building:

  • USD* — a yield-bearing synthetic dollar earning across lending markets, liquidity strategies, and real-world assets through a multi-strategy approach

  • USD*-P / USD*-J — a tranched credit architecture sitting on top of USD*: a fixed-rate senior tranche for capital preservation, and a junior tranche that absorbs first-loss risk in exchange for amplified yield

  • StableBank — a consumer savings product built on USD*, targeting dollar savers in emerging markets who want a better alternative to local currency

  • Perena Vaults — programmable structured credit infrastructure for institutions and protocols to deploy capital into customized yield strategies

Perena is founded by a team of builders from the Solana ecosystem with backgrounds in TradFi and DeFi. We believe deeply in pushing financial architecture forward — and in doing it with transparency, resilience, and speed.

We’re backed by some of the best in the world, including:

  • Solana co-founders Anatoly Yakovenko and Raj Gokal

  • Investors from Citadel, Jane Street, IMC, and Susquehanna

  • Borderless Capital, Binance Labs, Primitive Ventures, Maelstrom, Anagram, Breed, and others

Perena was a sponsor of the Colosseum Hackathon Stablecoin Track, helping fund the next generation of stablecoin projects on Solana. Our growing community spans over 20,000 developers, users, and builders aligned around one goal: reinventing how money works.

What You’ll do
  • Determine optimal entity structure across jurisdictions, decide on RIA/BD/alternative paths, and manage regulatory risk as our primary legal concern

  • Evaluate and optimize our current multi-entity setup for compliance efficiency, cost, and risk mitigation

  • Create internal processes for contract review, entity management, employment across jurisdictions, and compliance

  • Operate in areas where there isn't clear precedent - research, analyze, and make defensible recommendations on novel regulatory questions

  • Support fundraising, investor relations, and corporate structuring from a legal and compliance perspective.

What We’re Looking For
  • 3+ years legal experience: ideally mix of law firm and in-house

  • Deep expertise in ONE of: structured products, fund formation (SPVs, statutory trusts, fund-of-funds), securities law, or RIA/BD regulatory work

  • Willingness to learn: you bring expertise from traditional finance or crypto, but you're willing to learn the other side

  • Independent thinking: you can research novel questions and form defensible views, not just follow what others did

  • Startup mentality: you're comfortable being the only lawyer in the room and owning multiple workstreams

Nice to Have

  • Experience at top law firm + in-house experience

  • Background at fintech, funds, asset managers, or crypto companies

  • Familiarity with decentralized finance (DeFi), tokenomics, and other key blockchain concepts.

  • Familiarity with AML/KYC requirements and compliance frameworks

  • Multi-jurisdiction entity management experience

  • Based in NYC or willing to travel

Why Perena?

Stablecoins are transforming how the world stores, moves, and grows value — and we’re still early. This is a once-in-a-generation shift: from legacy money to programmable, accessible, internet-native finance. Building here isn’t just technically interesting — it’s globally meaningful.

We own our future — we trust each other to take initiative. Voices are heard and outcomes matter.

We treat our work as craft — thoughtful, opinionated, and precise. Many of us come from design, art, or cultural backgrounds.

We think from first principles — Perena is a reimagining of financial infrastructure. That starts with reimagining how we build.

We work in public — we value clarity, writing, and sharing progress openly within the team and with our community.
