The Role
The Head of Legal Services blends legal expertise with product thinking, entrepreneurship, and 0-1 creativity. Most GCs reduce risk inside one company. This role builds a system that reduces legal risk for thousands of small businesses. You’ll help define what legal service looks like in the AI native world.
You’ll operate across five core areas:
- Product (design onboarding and workflows that deliver the GC experience to clients)
- AI (teach and improve the AI through lawyer feedback loops)
- Legal Service (manage attorneys + partner firms + quality control)
What You’ll Do
1) Product: Translate the GC experience into a digital product
Partner with Product + Design to build features, workflows, and “lawyer scripts” that translate the traditional responsibilities of GCs into repeatable user experiences.
2) AI: Build the lawyer-feedback loop
Work closely with Engineering to build AI that can draft and advise like a lawyer.
Design the lawyer-in-the-loop feedback system that improves quality each week (labels, review flows, evaluation criteria).
Establish QA standards and grading systems for legal accuracy, risk, and usability.
3) Legal: Deliver great outcomes and build the legal org
Build and manage a hybrid legal team (in-house attorneys + outside counsel + partners).
Oversee client consultations, finalizations, and escalations — ensuring consistent quality and outcomes
Drive law firm and referral revenue
Requirements
- 7+ years of broad transactional experience for early stage companies: contracts, employment, compliance, corporate governance, and IP triage.
- AI fluency–you use AI as a regular part of your practice
- Experience as in-house counsel or at a law firm with meaningful client ownership.
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive salary + meaningful equity
- Medical benefits
