This position may be filled remotely, or in any of our locations.

The Litigation Docket Manager is responsible for the operations of the Litigation docketing group in supporting the Firm's overall Litigation docketing functions.   This position reports to the Director of Docketing Services and works closely with the Practice Specialty Center attorneys and other professionals to ensure high-quality service delivery, consistent processes, and measurable performance outcomes. Essential functions include:

  • Participates in recruiting docketing staff and evaluating the performance of Litigation Docket Specialists.
  • Develops, streamlines, and implements docketing process improvement strategies using data-driven analysis, documented workflows, and best practices to promote consistency and scalability.
  • Provides day-to-day supervision of and guidance to Litigation Docket Specialists, including regular mentoring, feedback, and goal setting.
  • Guides the implementation of Central Docketing procedures for the Litigation docketing functions, ensuring adoption through training, communication, and ongoing reinforcement.
  • Responsible for ensuring that Litigation Docket Specialists have access to training and tools necessary to ensure accuracy of docketed data, and for assessing the effectiveness of such training through quality and performance metrics.
  • Analyzes training needs and provides recommendations to the Director concerning ongoing department training initiatives, including curriculum development, onboarding enhancements and targeted skill-building.
  • Communicates and coordinates with the Director and the IT group on maintenance and updates to the Litigation docketing database. 
  • Performs audits of data in the docketing database, including comparing data, clearing orphan records, identifying discrepancies, monitoring any special features included in the software, and developing and maintaining standard and special reports.
  • Responsible for tracking trends, identifying issues, investigating root causes, and recommending corrective actions.
  • With Director, develops, monitors, and reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to accuracy, timeliness, workload distribution, and service quality for the Litigation docketing team.
  • Works directly with lateral hires to review firm docketing procedures, including post-integration review.
  • Onboard incoming portfolios/files into the firm’s docketing database.
  • Other duties as required.

POSITION-SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree with major coursework in related field preferred or commensurate professional and educational experience
  • A minimum of 5 years of people-management experience required, preferably in a professional services environment
  • Litigation experience required
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook)
  • Familiarity with Litigation docketing software applications (e.g. CompuLaw Vision, eDockets, ProLaw, CourtAlert, Milana), including reporting and audit functionality.
  • Ability to adapt to change, and balance competing demands in a fast-paced environment while effectively leading others through change.
  • Ability to coach others in client service excellence.
  • Ability to to establish standards that ensure consistent quality across the team.
  • Experience leading a team and providing coaching, accountability, and continuous feedback.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Employees are entitled to compensation commensurate with skill and experience. The exact compensation will vary based on skills, experience, location, and other factors permitted by law. The expected compensation ranges for this position in various states and jurisdictions are as follows:

  • State of California: $86,000 - $175,000
  • State of Colorado: $79,000 - $141,000
  • State of Illinois: $78,000 - $151,000
  • State of Massachusetts: $86,000 - $164,000
  • State of Maryland: $83,000 - $126,000
  • State of Minnesota: $86,000 - $142,000
  • Jersey City, NJ: $93,000 - $169,000
  • State of New York: $80,000 - $173,000
  • State of Vermont: $85,000 - $163,000
  • State of Washington: $83,000 - $158,000
  • Washington, D.C.: $111,000 - $163,000

The above salaries do not include a discretionary bonus, however bonus opportunities are non-guaranteed, and are dependent upon individual and firm performance.
