Job Title: Locate Investigator
Job Summary:
Magna Legal Services is seeking a Locate Investigator to join our team. In this role, you will support a variety of investigative case types, with a primary focus on conducting locates and skip-tracing for both plaintiff and defense firms, often in support of service of legal documents. This position will primarily involve desktop-based investigations, utilizing research tools, databases, and analytical methods to locate individuals and gather relevant information.
Key Responsibilities:
- Uncovering critical information to locate individuals who are missing or difficult to find, including fugitives, debtors, or beneficiaries related to wills and estates. Conducting comprehensive searches of public and proprietary databases and records. Conducting pretext calls (covertly finding information or confirming details of the person of interest)
- Interviewing people who know the individual of interest
- Utilizing a variety of investigative tools, databases, and software to conduct research and analysis
- Coordinating service of process with “boots-on-the ground” investigators/process servers
Qualifications:
- 2-5 years of relevant work experience doing investigative and/or service of process work
- Industry experience in law enforcement, law firms, court systems, or working as a skip tracer
- A college degree in a relevant field (i.e., Criminal Justice, Psychology, Communications, etc.) is strongly preferred.
- Preference will be given to bilingual candidates.
- Strong time management and organization skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills required; daily interaction with others is a core function of the role.
Compensation: USD $25.00 - $30.00 per hour.
An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees.
