Manage warehouse and ecommerce order fulfillment and shipping: receive and prepare shipments, coordinate transportation and deliveries, maintain inventory and vehicles, control freight and material costs, streamline processes, lead fulfillment production tasks, communicate cross-functionally, and support purchasing and vendor decisions.
LOGISTICS/OPS SPECIALIST
Role will report to the Company’s Operations Manager. This is a part-time position.
Responsible for making sure supplies, stock, materials, packages, and/or products are processed through the delivery and/or warehouse system efficiently and safely. Processes orders and oversees cycle of order fulfillment for stores and ecommerce.
Logistics Responsibilities
- Facilitate the shipping of products from one destination to another
- Arrange transportation and orchestrate deliveries to meet customer demand with little to no delay
- Receives products and coordinates delivery
- Prepares loads for shipment
- Takes steps to avoid quality control issues
- Makes sure warehouse capacity is kept at optimal levels
- Manages activities throughout the order fulfilment and transportation cycle to make sure established deadlines are met
- Oversees inventory of goods and vehicles
- Continually reviews freight costs, transportation rates, and/or the prices of raw materials to keep costs down where possible
- Streamlines shipping and transportation processes
Operational Responsibilities
- Manage appropriate inventory levels of centralized warehouse by ensuring the timely placement of orders. Tasks include coordinate receipt of incoming shipments and continuous refinement of inventory management process.
- Lead Ops in fulfillment and production of standard prep items such as tea dose bags, ecommerce orders, and proprietary syrups.
- Communicate essential information to cross-functional teams in a clear and timely manner, maintaining confidentiality where appropriate.
- Over time, serve as point-person for all major purchasing decisions including procuring new vendor relationships.
Qualifications
- A minimum of one year of operations or logistics experience and/or related experience and training.
- Proven and on-going ability to control costs through consistent improvements and optimization
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention-to-detail with a bias toward time management/efficiency mindset
- Competency and working knowledge of quality assurance and quality management principles
- Ability to effectively prioritize, problem solve, using sound judgment and procedural mindset
