What MatX Is Building

MatX's mission is to make the world’s best AI models run as efficiently as allowed by physics, bringing the world years ahead in AI quality and availability. We are developing vertically integrated full-stack solutions from silicon to systems including hardware and software to train and run the largest ML workloads for AGI. We are looking for people who are excited about systems-focused ML research.

What You'll Do Here

• Train and optimize LLMs for our hardware
• Run quality evaluations
• Build and set up distributed infrastructure for training and inference
• Advise on the hardware architecture from an ML perspective

Who you Are

• A strong research track record in LLMs (PhD or equivalent experience), demonstrated through publications and/or shipped, open-sourced research. Depth in at least one of: reinforcement learning, quantization or attention/architecture (including long-context methods). Related experience in inference/training optimization, ML–hardware co-design, evals is a plus
• Excellent software engineering skills, including building and scaling distributed training/inference codebases

Compensation

The US base salary for this full-time position is determined based on a variety of factors including role, experience, location, job related skills, and relevant education and training. Career length is only a guideline for compensation.

• 0-5 years of experience - $120,000 - $200,000 + equity
• 5-10 years of experience - $120,000 -$300,000 + equity
• 10+ years experience - $120,000 - $400,000 + equity
