About the role:

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented team player to join Aura’s finance team. This accounting manager will collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to contribute towards the accurate and timely reporting of transactions across various critical areas of the business.

Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills and accounting knowledge base, a desire and ability to work in an exciting and fast-moving environment, while also contributing their leadership skills and collaborative mindset to the finance and accounting function. The ideal candidate will lead and develop a small but nimble team ensuring successful fulfillment of accounting responsibilities while fostering skill growth and professional advancement.

Day to Day:

  • Review journal entries, in various currencies, including expense accruals entries, time and expense entries, credit card entries, and more.
  • Oversee capitalized software transactions, collaborating with stakeholders outside of the finance function to continuously improve the capitalization process, and appropriately maintain the capitalized software ledger.
  • Oversee the accounts payable function, to ensure when necessary that our systems and business process flows are not interrupted.
  • Review and analyze period over period income statement and balance sheet account balances and reconciliations for reporting purposes and to further identify and resolve accounting discrepancies.
  • Participate as a key contributor to the annual financial statement audit process, including preparation of disclosures and review of audit support.
  • Manage a small team, providing the necessary support and direction to ensure all responsibilities are met.

What you bring to the table:

  • BS/MS in Accounting or CPA Licensure
  • 4 - 7 years of general accounting experience; technology industry experience a plus
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills – ability to identify discrepancies, determine a resolution, and communicate effectively.
  • Mindset for continuous improvement – constantly evaluating our systems and processes for inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
  • Strong communication skills – ability to work collaboratively with finance, operations, and other business partners

It would be great if you also had:

  • Familiarity with NetSuite ERP system
  • Experience working for a publicly-traded company or in audits of a publicly-traded company
